Caroline is beyond irritating. I can't stand her. I think it's ridiculous that she changed the results and I couldn't believe her reasons for doing it. She was acting like a total nut today. Can we please get back to the days when she was just a nice little old lady who babysit the kids, made clam chowder, & had motivating pep talks with people at the pub?

^^ Actually, I can buy Caroline's excuses - in the Days contextual world

First of all she's royally PO'd that Victor isn't pining for her anymore. She liked being the Brady Martyr with a taste of Victor on the side, and now Victor has his interests elsewhere. And we can be pretty assured that it's not about Vivian at all - she's angry about Maggie. Caroline has already taken it out on Maggie a couple of times and shown that she's all screwy on this point. The rest I'm able to see as justification after the fact, but Maggie is the real issue.

And from a writing POV it's rather clever. Here's Maggie - the woman we all love no matter what. What can they do for a storyline? Not much, as has been shown over the years. She had her mate and that was the end of it. Suddenly Maggie is the new central character and they have conflict all around her. She's got a new love interest, and two jealous ex-lovers of the man who rather than accepting the fact that he's moved on are using Maggie and their excuse to act out. And she's a centrally placed figure for the younger Kiriakis crowd. I also got the sense yesterday that they will have Magic involved in the Bope prison mystery/reunion. Maggie is the word, and Caroline is now quickly becoming the anti-Maggie.

It might not be great, but it's a story with the old guard that doesn't involve babysitting. Anyway you cut it, it's bonus time for the 60+.

This Caroline twist is so stupid! WTF? Caroline knows how to hack into hospitals now? [Keyshawn Johnson]COME ON, MAN![/Keyshawn Johnson] And how did Caroline know that Philip slept with Chloe? Did Steph tell her?

Also, she sounded like Helena Cassadine!

Yup. I want that Caroline back.

I gladly await the scene(s) where Sami calls Caroline out on her hypocrisy. Nobody gave it to Sami more than Caroline when Sami would be a schemin' and a plottin'. Now the shoe's on the other foot!

She could serve up a nice cup of tea, too. But then Victor can tell ya all about her teabagging specialties

And this is better? I think it's out of character for her switch the paternity results because she wants to Stephanie to be happy. And her whole spew of "the world doesn't need anymore Kiriakis'"....WTF.

Yup, just another part of Caroline's destruction and to get more people to hate her. But I see what TPTB are doing - destroying one character to prop up another.

You know, how many people in Salem in the past had the power to change DNA results? I don't remember hearing all this "Caroline's destruction" when JER was writing for Days. What story did she have then? She sat around doing nothing, like some others in the over 60 crowd. But now it's a problem?

I love it, especially her bringing up her affair with victor and Bo's parentage. She said she wished that could have remained a secret forever. This just didn't start overnight, IMO, and it gives her something juicy to do instead of smiling and offering folks something to drink when they come into The Pub.

Hell, I would bet against the fact that she will probably have something to do with something else. But her character destruction? No, we see that totally different.

Then why didn't she switch the paternity results for Sami when she was pregnant with a Dimera? Why wasn't she thinking of Sami's happiness? Why didn't she help keep Carly away from Bo, why isn't she actively doing that? And how does this make any sense logistically? How did Caroline switch the results? When did Caroline find out? How is this plausible? How come she hasn't done anything bad like this for the past 20 years?

    • Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
    • Co Sign!!!!   I have been watching the show regularly over the last few weeks and am pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to watch each day. This definitely is confirmation for me that Paula and Jeanne wrote the stroke episodes, cause I felt the same way watching those. Could be more exciting for sure, but interactions now make more sense and everything seems to be a bit more character driven which is great. I will add though, there are still about 10 or so characters i'd love to see gone, and hope a few will exit in the future! Otherwise, happy with the changes so far.

    • There is suffering everywhere you look, says mother of emaciated baby girl trapped in Gaza https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czrv5rl73zdo Quoting excerpts from BBC article: The baby's mother Najwa, 23, is changing Siwar's nappy. She weighs just over 2kg (4lb 6oz). A baby girl of five months should be around or over 6kg. "There was no food when I gave birth to her," says Najwa. "If I wanted to feed myself so I could breastfeed her, I had no nutrients to make my health better... She now only drinks formula milk, and we don't know how we'll be able to provide it for her." Israel has banned international journalists from entering Gaza to report independently. According to Siwar's doctor, Ziad al-Majaida, "Nothing enters through the borders, no milk, food or anything. This leads to big problems here for the kids. This baby needs a specific type of milk. It was available before, but because of the border closure, the stocks have run out for a while now." Since the beginning of the year, according to the UN, about 10,000 cases of acute malnutrition among children have been identified. Food prices have rocketed by as much as 1,400%. Charity kitchens, which have helped hundreds of thousands of Gazans, are shutting as food supplies run out. Twenty-five bakeries supported by the World Food Programme have been forced to close. Israel cut off all humanitarian aid and other supplies from entering Gaza on 2 March, and resumed its military offensive two weeks later The United Nations has said the Israeli blockade constitutes "a cruel collective punishment" on civilians. The UN's humanitarian director, former British diplomat Tom Fletcher, said that international law was unequivocal. "As the occupying power, Israel must allow humanitarian support in... Aid, and the civilian lives it saves, should never be a bargaining chip," he warned. From the BBC reporter: I put this point to Boaz Bismuth, a leading member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. He (Bismuth) denies there is an aid crisis caused by the blockade. "There is food in Gaza... Israel wouldn't do such a restriction if the population didn't have food. I mean, I know my country perfectly well," he (Bismuth) said. BBC reporter: I put it to Bismuth that he was denying the evidence of people's eyes, that children were starving. "There are not starving children. I repeat again." He (Bismuth) said that there had been allegations months ago of famine, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza "which was crap". ----  ----  ---- A UK-based advocacy group for Israel has the nerve to claim war may reduce obesity in Gaza https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/10/uk-lawyers-for-israel-condemned-over-claim-war-may-reduce-obesity-in-gaza
    • Joel Crothers would have been perfect as Owen (maybe because Margo wasn't too far off Denise). A shame he couldn't have played a dual role. Eliot did have more room to grow. I wonder if whatever allegedly happened with Denny Albee played a part in both their exits.

    • I remember Evie's last scene and it was in Justin Marler's house and she is telling them that Ben is asking for a reconciliation and she is going to join him. I always have wondered what Janet Grey did after leaving Guiding Light (I know from the interview with Kathleen Cullen that she did have a baby and they stayed in touch for awhile).
    • https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/11/trump-accept-luxury-plane-gift-qatar Donald Trump is reportedly ready to accept a luxury plane described to be a “palace in the sky” being offered to the US president as a gift from Qatar’s royal family, almost immediately igniting accusations of bribery and corruption as well as commensurate criticism. citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, ABC reported (link) that the Trump administration was preparing to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, a jumbo jet from the Qatari royals that was estimated to be about $400m. Trump would then use the 13-year-old plane as the new Air Force One until shortly before the conclusion of his second Oval Office stint, at which point it would be transferred to his presidential library foundation no later than 1 January 2029. The luxury gift from Qatar is expected to be announced next week during Trump’s three-day tour of the Middle East that includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, ABC reported. Trump toured the opulent plane in February while it was parked at the West Palm Beach international airport, ABC added. According to ABC’s sources, Trump’s attorney general Pam Bondi and his top White House lawyer David Warrington have pre-emptively concluded that it is “legally permissible” for Trump to accept the luxury gift and then transfer it over to his presidential library.
