I'm willing to defend fellow Okie Margaret DePriest on a lot, because I don't think her writing on AMC or DAYS was as bad as others have made it out to be. (AW is a different story, lol). But allowing the biggest thing that ever happened to DAYS to leave over what amounted to a petty argument? Nah, gurl, you have that one coming, lol.

A ‘dream job’ evaporates over money on ‘Days of Our Lives’ by Lynda Hirsch

Chris Robinson, last seen on daytime as “General Hospital’s” Rick Webber, was offered a dream job by NBC. Network bigwigs thought it would be wonderful to reunite Chris and Genie Francis, who plays Diana Colville on “Days of Our Lives,” as a father and daughter team. According to Robinson the idea was exciting. “The thought of working with Genie was great. The role was wild — much different than that of Rick Webber. I met with Al Rabin, who was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I was promised lots of time off to pursue other areas of my career. Everything was great — except the money. After working on ‘General Hospital’ for eight and a half years I could not believe the salary I was offered.” The role has been given to Morgan Woodward, last seen on Dallas.

Was this common knowledge? In Dec 87,Chris accepted AW so the money must have been better, or he just needed the job. So he reunited with Leslie instead of Laura.

Does someone know how well recieved the Return and recast of Linda Anderson was between 1984-1985?

It wasn't well received at all. It was a complete bastardization of one of the best, most complex characters the show ever had. Complete trash.

I thought it was cool how Mickey immediately mentions the queen on the chess board and Marlena mentions the knight, decades before Marlena would become Stefano's queen of the night.

That’s what I thought. I started in mid december 1983 in 2020 and just made it to the mid November 1984 episodes with the plane crash Story and Linda‘s Stories to start!

I read so much about her and what a Fan Favorite the character was and hoped for some scenes/episodes to pop up. When I heard that Madame X is Linda I was quite excited but idk. It feels so poorly written and I thought this seemed Not like Linda who I read about before.

I’m just at the start of her gaslighting Melissa into believing she slept with Pete and then denying it and getting Kimberly to work for her and blackmailing her. I wasn’t a Fan of the actress on her other show even though she has some Great facial acting.. But I don’t like the storylines with her at all Right now and I have a feeling that it just gets worse for me with her character (
