If you're talking about Bob and Kim's wedding, then yes, I think so. I've read elsewhere that Susan Bedsow Horgan and Michael Laibson were writing the show at that time and were responsible for getting them back together.

FYI, there was a WGA strike in 1985; however, it was one of the shortest on record. It lasted only two weeks and was focused on receiving residuals for a new market... home video! Problems with that negotiation led to the 1988 strike, which lasted five and a half months.

Its been forever since I've posted some of my stuff, so I'll start by sharing these profiles that were shared in Soap News in the late 90s:

The Sullivan Sisters

Chuck Ryan was close friends with Bob Hughes Chuck moved to Centerville, IL and became romantically involved with two sisters, Jennifer and Kim Sullivan. Jennifer was introduced to ATWT fans in 1971, Kim in 1972. Chuck ended up marrying Jennifer and they had two children, Barbara and Rick.jennifer.jpg

Chuck became terminally ill and Bob Hughes promised to look after his family after he died. Rick Ryan was an intern at Memorial and he took his father's death very hard. Rick didn't like it when Bob and Jennifer got romantically involved. Barbara tried to capture the attention of Bob's son, Tom Hughes, but he was too busy with his law studies at the time.

When Bob and Jennifer married, Nancy was opposed to the union. Rick caused problems for Bob wherever he could, and Nancy felt that marriage to Jennifer would only cause more trouble for Bob. Rick refused to attend his mother's wedding. kim1.jpg

Jennifer's widowed sister, Kim Sullivan Reynolds, caught John Dixon's eye, and the two of them dated. Kim's first husband was Jason Reynolds. Jason's sister was Valerie Conway. Kim liked Bob Hughes too and felt that if things didn't work out between Jennifer and Bob, that maybe she'd be able to hook Bob for herself.

kim2.jpg

Bob went off to a medical convention in Palm Beach, Florida and lo and behold - who was there but the lovely Kim Reynolds. Kim was a lounge singer out on a gig. They shared a night of passion. When Bob returned to Oakdale he found out that Jennifer was pregnant! Kim also got pregnant by Bob! Bob and Jennifer stayed together and Kim married John Dixon to give her baby a name.

Kim lost her baby but Jennifer didn't. Jennifer gave birth to Frances (known as Frannie) who was named after Kim and Jennifer's mother. Jennifer went to work building a nursing career.

Kim and John never consummated their marriage and John couldn't stand it any longer. He forced himself on Kim. Kim told Bob about it, but he asked her not to tell Jennifer as they found out Jennifer was dying of a rare disease of the central nervous system. Rick left Oakdale, which made things easier for Bob and Jennifer. Jennifer's disease went into remission, but she died soon thereafter in a car accident. kim4.jpg

Kim fell in love with Dan Stewart He helped her through difficult times with John, who was basically blackmailing her into staying married to him. After more ups and downs Kim decided it was time to divorce John. She found out she was pregnant with John's child though, but refused to stay married to him. John tried to drown his sorrows in drink.

Dan had turned to Valerie Conway (Kim's ex-sister-in-law) while Kim was trying to work things out with John. Valerie and Susan (Dan's first wife) couldn't keep the two of them apart and they finally reunited. In 1976 Kim gave birth to Andrew, her and John's son. Kim and Dan married in 1977.

In 1978, when Kim was placing flowers in Jennifer's grave, a young woman named Melinda Gray approached her and told her that she was Jennifer's daughter. She was 18 and was given up for adoption. Rev. Booth verified that Jennifer had indeed given birth to a baby girl that she gave up for adoption. He said that Jennifer never forgave herself for it and no one knew about the baby. Melinda had a locket with Jennifer's picture in it and Melinda told Kim that her adopted father gave her the locket, saying the photo was of her mother. Melinda was 18 and looking to marry into a rich family. Melinda ended up breaking up the Beau Spencer/Annie Stewart marriage when she had a fling with Beau and got pregnant. Beau married Melinda, who miscarried, but the marriage didn't last long.

Dan learned he had a brain tumor and the news was hard on Kim. She went to Rev. Booth for comfort. He gave her the poem "Look to This Day" as it helped Jennifer during her difficult times. Dan and Kim took one last vacation, but Dan didn't make it through to the end of it before he died. Betsy had only recently learned Dan was her father, and she had a very hard time accepting his death. He died in 1979.

In 1980 Melinda Gray had a brief fling with Brad Hollister (before his marriage to Annie Stewart). Drunk one night, she jumped overboard while out on a boat with Brad. When Brad tried to rescue her she pushed him away, and he fell and got knocked out. When he came to he realized Melinda had drowned. He notified the authorities and they found her body in the lake. Kim had lost her niece after knowing her for only two years.

ALL ABOUT LISA!

lisamiller3.jpgLisa Miller is the daughter of Henry and Alma Miller. Alma loved Lisa, but thought nothing of giving her a piece of her mind when she felt Lisa was out of line. Alma and Henry were pleased when Lisa married Bob Hughes in 1960.

Bob and Lisa had a son, Tom. Lisa soon grew disenchated with married life and had an affair. Lisa's affair with Bruce Elliot broke up her marriage to Bob. Bruce eventually broke up with Lisa, who he felt was naive.

This is the point when Lisa realized she still loved Bob and begun trying to get him back. Lisa played a guilt trip on Bob's fiancee, Sylvia Hill, saying if it weren't for her she'd be able to get her family back together. It worked and Sylvia broke off the engagement.

johneldridge.jpgLisa's problems with the Hughes' continued so Lisa decided to move to Chicago. There she became engaged to John Eldridge, who was a wealthy attorney. When Lisa's father died, she returned to Oakdale. Nancy and Alma tried to get Bob and Lisa back together, but Lisa decided to marry John in secret. She sued Bob for custody of Tom, won and moved to Chicago. There she told Tom she married John. He was mad and called his dad to come and get him. The role of John Eldridge was played by Nicholas Coster, who also played Eduardo Grimaldi, Lisa's last husband.

The marriage to Eldridge didn't last long and Lisa received a hefty divorce settlement from him. She came back to Oakdale and dreamed of getting back together with Bob. Bob had moved on with Sandy McGuire. Lisa turned her attentions to Michael Shea. She was sleeping with him before and after his marriage to Claire Lowell. Lisa became pregnant and had their son, Chuck. Eventually Michael divorced Claire and married Lisa, but that marriage didn't last long.

Even with Nancy's help, Lisa wasn't able to get Bob back. Lisa eventually began an affair with Bob's brother, Don. Don had no plans on being tied down, which was fine with Lisa at that point. Eventually though they became engaged. Lisa was attracted to Dr. Wally Matthews. Lisa just wouldn't set a wedding date with Don, so Don wanted Wally investigated, feeling he stood in the way of his marriage to Lisa. Don got upset when Tom refused to investigate Wally and left town for California. Eventually Lisa realized Wally wasn't exciting enough for her and Wally left town too. Around this time, Tom went to pick Chuck up from college. The weather was very bad and they got into a terrible car accident. Chuckie didn't survive. Lisa was very distraught.

grantcolman.jpgGrant Colman attracted Lisa's attention next. He was an attorney who accepted a position at the Lowell firm, as long as it was renamed Lowell, Hughes & Colman. Grant was married to Joyce at one time. She came back to town to try and win Grant back. Despite her trying to get between them, Lisa and Grant married. Joyce admitted to Grant that after their separation she gave birth to their baby, a boy named Teddy. Lisa and Grant investigated and found out this was true. Joyce had given the baby up for adoption. Mary and Brian Ellison in Wyoming adopted him. Joyce fought to get Teddy back, but lost. Grant told the Ellison's he wouldn't fight for Teddy. The judge granted the Ellison's custody, due to the bond that Teddy had formed with them. Brian Ellison died in an accident, and Teddy and Mary moved to Oakdale. To try and get back at Grant and Bob, Joyce turned her attentions to Don Hughes, who'd returned from Los Angeles. Don and Joyce married. After some ups and downs, Grant and Lisa divorced. Lisa became engaged to Bennett Hadley, but they mutually agreed to break off the engagement.

Years later Lisa took another husband, Whit McColl. They married secretly in Paris. They married in 1982. On August 2, 1984 Whit was found murdered. In 1986 Lisa married Earl Mitchell, who was Shannon's uncle. In 1988, on an assignment for the Argus in Egypt, Earl was killed. The mystery wasn't solved until 1989. Lisa was single once again.

Lisa's last husband was Eduardo Grimaldi. They married in 1995 but he was shot by Hans before they could go on a honeymoon. At the hospital Eduardo was doing okay, until Orlena Grimaldi increased the drug flow on his IV drip and opened up his wounds, killing him. Eduardo knew secrets about Orlena that she didn't want revealed. The Grimaldi's had been involved in many shady business dealings. In fact, Eduardo was a cold-blooded killer, trying to cover his tracks so no one would find out what he was up to. To this day Lisa has no idea what kind of man Eduardo really was, because he never showed her that side of him nor were the incidents he was involved in investigated. Lisa blamed John Dixon for Eduardo's death, sued him, and won. To get back at Lisa, John claimed he was a changed man and wooed her. They became engaged. He humiliated Lisa at their engagement party, saying it was all a sham.

According to what I have, Chuck was indeed on the show and was played by three different actors, Don Chastain, Michael Ebert, and Bob Kaliban in the late 1960s all before Jennifer first appeared.

Yes. He also appeared in 1987 during the "Lily runs away" to Colorado or Arizona or wherethefuckever with Dusty after she learned the truth about her parentage. He played the owner (Logan) of the cafe where Lily waitressed. His wife Grace was played by Kelly Bishop.

He also wrote for the show and his wife was long time music coordinator Jill Diamond.

I never knew all that. I know he supposedly wrote Search for Tomorrow during the 1981 strike.

Watching the ATWT dvd...and noticed the Hughes kitchen is the same one from the first episode. Does anyone know when exactly they changed that set?? I know Greg Marx is on this dvd but is still on ATWT when the set was changed. So it had to be in 86.

Wyoming! I didn't remember that either until we made that Lily and Holden DVD. I wanted to use a diner episode but they all had music playing the background that couldn't be scrubbed.

Ran into Jill at the Gregg Marx cabaret in May.
