Just like CK in real life. The closer she gets to black is probably her relatives. And she needs a Dru like male character.

You know how soaps have lofty ideals and try to put forth social progressiveness.... Lily is supposed to represent the post-racial woman of color in america, a shining example of what we will become when our nation has freed itself from labels and litmus tests for "black enough" or "white enough".

I'm surprised that Victor called Billy an alcoholic. Judging from the previews, Billy's yelling at Victor will be a laugh riot.

Just wait till Nikki gets sloshed in public and starts taking her clothes off to show Abby "How it's done". If I were writing this show, I would SO dig up Nick Benedict from wherever he is and let Billy do an expose' on Grambo the KIDNAPPER.

How would she do this, seriously? Y&R would be an idiot if they even tell themselves anybody would by that logic for defense

By simply "being" a woman of color, and not using neck rolls and ebonics to PROVE she's a woman of color. I'm sure that's their intention, too bad they picked such a crappy actress to carry it off.

Oh wow I'm glad that is so synomynous with being a woman of color in anybody's mind. Where's that famous Carly sig when I need it

I'm surprised that Victoria didn't counter with "so is mom, what's your point?" But that would require the writers to actually think out their scripts in context of the history of the show. Normally, that's asking too much, but when that story is playing out right on screen it makes you wonder.

Unless it's one of those occasions where Braeden can't bear to have his scene partner get the better of him in an argument.

Isn't that every time? laugh.gif So yes, you make a good point. I tend to forget about his ego.

They can't bring up Nikki because Nikki's alcoholism is supposed to actually be crippling to her life. Billy's boozing is supposed to be hot and fun and what real men do.

But Victor actually referred to him as an alcoholic. They wouldn't have used that word if they weren't acknowledging that Billy has a sickness. They would have just referred to his drinking.

I think that was to make Victor seem like he has no idea what's going on with Nikki. The show has had Billy get drunk so many times and no one around him has cared. If Victoria had made the comparison then I'd be more hopeful the show actually sees men drinking heavily as anything other than hot stuff.

But it was Grambo who called him an alcoholic & he's anything but unbiased.

Melody Thomas Scott is the ONLY thing worth watching on this show. Drunk Nikki is EPIC and that's all down to her performance. It sure as sh*t ain't the writing, directing, lighting, costuming, set design or producing.

Always has been (except when played by Davetta).

+1.
