Lily is supposed to represent the post-racial woman of color in america, a shining example of what we will become when our nation has freed itself from labels and litmus tests for "black enough" or "white enough". But that would require the writers to actually think out their scripts in context of the history of the show. The show has had Billy get drunk so many times and no one around him has cared. Drunk Nikki is EPIC and that's all down to her performance. It sure as sh*t ain't the writing, directing, lighting, costuming, set design or producing.
