And Billy/Victoria getting tattoos was so stupid, so cliche, so damn annoying. Cliches don't build couples. Scenes with depth and most important, chemistry between the two actors do. I don't need a scene with them dining at the GCAC or eating pizza, watching Audrey Hepburn films, but for fuc's sake, something more touching and more original would have been effective. You could still get Billy being a trademark dick, Victoria giggling like a methhead, and some romance with something other than tacky tattoos. Hearts too?! GAAAAG.

It would help if Victoria was acting like she wasn't having a midlife-crisis. The only person who brings up her strange behavior is her ex-husband and we see how he's treated.

I really cannot believe that this character is Victoria Newman. This is not the same character Bill Bell poured years of development into so that she could be the future of the show. Victoria, regardless of Amelia's crappy acting and bad styling, is written as such an afterthought and just as one of Billy's idiot whores. Shameful. This show should be ashamed.

They probably think Victoria should be honored. What other purpose does a woman serve in Shefferland?

Y&R has the worst writing for women on daytime, and that's saying something. Not even on Guza's GH are women this vapid and one-dimensional.

+1.

So MAB ripped the Tucker/Ashley scene from Body Heat?

To compensate will they make Kathleen Turner the new Flo?

I mean, no one expects Charles Dickens or Shakespeare when they watch a soap opera. But for God's sake, is it too much to ask to have dialogue that makes sense, a dash of romance, and just some general focus?

That went out the door when the powers that be realized that teenagers who don't even know what an "attention span" is are the only ones who watch soaps.

The only ones they WANT watching soaps. Nevertheless, I agree.

I saw that some at Daytime Confidential consider the Tucker/Ashley scene to be close to a rape. Do you think that's true?

If so I guess it's another on Sheffer's list. He has done this on all his soaps.

I can't agree with you. GH's women are written much, much worse as far as I'm concerned. Brenda, Carly, Sam and Liz have been treated to one humiliation after another. Y&R has never come close. It may be coming closer than it ever has before and I agree that it's unacceptable, but it's still no where near the level of GH or even B&B, imo.

I only see offensive deceptions of a woman on today's Y&R. They're all idiot losers who only live to be screwed by their men (Sharon, Phyllis, Ashley). Or they're somehow unworthy and considered un-sexy (Jill, Nikki).

Even GH and B&B do a better job at showcasing career women than Y&R does these days. At least you see Robin, Carly, Lisa, Liz, and Olivia at work sometimes. On B&B, Brooke and Stephanie are always at work too. On Y&R, you no longer see any depiction of a woman other than when she's screwing a man anymore.
