After EDGE Ended, OLTL asked Sharon Rose Gabet to Come on in 1985 and they planned to bring back and recast the role of Echo Di SaVoy but took AW  instead and says that was a mistake

Peter Bergman mentioned in a podcast that Y&R tested six actors for Jack before he was cast. I know two of them were Mark Pinter and Jeff Trachta, and a third may have been Jon Lindstrom. Any ideas of who the other three were?

Not sure who the other three were, but in my search to find out, I discovered that Terry Lester audition to replace Bill Espy as Snapper Foster in 1975. When he lost the role to David H, he swore off soaps, apparently John Conboy tried to get him in for other roles, until he finally said yes to Jack Abbott in 1980.

I know Lynn tested for Jill when Jess almost walked in 2009

I wonder who Jason Alexander tested for

Yeah, Jason Alexander would've made a good recurring comic character on AMC or OLTL.

Anna Stuart mentioned in a recent interview for Retro TV that the role of Toni Ferra on The Doctors came down to three actresses. One was Adrienne Barbeau, later of Maude fame. The other was Jennifer Darling, who went on to a recurring role on Eight is Enough, as well as a prolific voiceover career (particularly in anime). Of course, Anna Stuart won the role and played Toni Ferra Powers from February 1971 to September 1976.

P.S. Jennifer Darling's then-husband, Paul Henry Itkin, joined TD in early 1972 as Dr. Vito McCray - Toni's lecherous ex-boyfriend.

    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada for her to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
    • @Maxim Thank you for the mini-review and clip from several pages ago. I appreciate you using the Bo/Alex clip as them meeting again by this point was a real surprise to me. The scene has some layers, getting a glimpse of Alex genuinely wanting the best for Bo rather than gloating. I was disappointed it ended with Tina dragging her out of the room for some much less interesting sparring (I did enjoy Alex pointing out just how quickly Tina got over Cord).
