Members Jonathan
Very cool offer. I placed my order. I'm sad there are no pics of Greg and Jenny. http://www.abcdaytimefans.com/specials/amc/index.shtml
Members R Sinclair
I love production stills. They often tell a different side to the same story.
Members SFK
I've really liked that pic of Phoebe in the blue suit and hat from '73 ever since we got the 25th anniversary scrapbook.
Members marceline
My "awww meter" was going off the charts. But like Jonathan I'm a sad there was no Greg/Jenny or Cliff/Nina. I thought for sure that classic shot of Taylor Miller riding up in her horse drawn carriage would be included.
Members Khan
"AMC History Up for Sale!" I don't know why, but there's something so crass about that.
Members Jonathan
I wish there was a better pic of Erica and Bianca. I would've liked to see the still of when Bianca comes out to Erica.
Members All My Shadows
The 70s and 80s stills are so gorgeous, but the more recent ones look like magazine scans or cheap screencaps. Why is that?
Members Khan
If you ask me, that seems quite fitting, since the show hasn't been "quality" in a very long time.
Members R Sinclair
It's a generation gap. I look at photos my father took back in the 60s and 70s. There just seems to be an "understanding" of that generation when it comes to photography. Present day, we have people who probably graduated from college within the last 10-15 years who came up during the MTV generation, having no clue as to how to capture moving images in still photography. It's all about moving images, music videos and NOT about capturing the essence of a moment in still photography. They snap pictures, but they don't take photographs. Members SFK
Ugh, makes me think of the "so and so has uploaded 78 pictures (of herself all in practically the same pose)" phenomenon on Facebook. It would be nice if these came all fancy and framed like animation cels or something. I'm no cheapskate, but twenty bucks for an unautographed 8x10 seems steep when I could grab most of these photos from the net and create my own prints (or enjoy many of them, albeit on a smaller scale, in my Complete Family Scrapbook). Members Khan
If AMC really wants to make a buck off itself, why not release DVD sets of "vintage episodes" beginning with the earliest available ones?
Members SFK
Now that I could get with. I haven't been to Agnes Nixon's site in a long time, but it's great how she uploaded some "lost" episodes.
Members marceline
ITA and I blame digital for a lot of it. When you had to buy film, paper, developing chemicals, etc... there was more of an investment in making each shot count. Composition mattered. Now people snap pictures, look at a screen and delete anything that doesn't suit their fancy and "fix" errors in Photoshop.
Members EricMontreal22
When she opened her webspace she mentioned them working on DVDs--I wonder what happened. (and i LOVE those 1970-71 episodes--love the campy one with Ruth's sister having the nightmare)
Members Jonathan
I really like the pic of Tad and Dixie in Canada where he is unconscious and she is trying to save him.
