GH: MICHAEL RECAST

DG is such a scrawny little thing, I can't really see him anywhere in daytime. He'd have to play much younger than he really is, like maybe ATWT's JJ.

I think that worked for him, though. He wasn't your typical soap hunk or typical soap pretty boy. He had a very real and normal look and presence to him.

But looks like they're rewriting the character with this pretty boy recast, who, by the way, has a serious case of gay-face.

I did hear Michael will have a new love interest soon, maybe they thought Drew didn't have the traditional romantic "look" for those types of stories.

You can't tease and then not tell. Spill. What did you hear?

I dont feel comfortable saying too much as I dont want to spread rumors bc I dont know what I know for a fact, but I heard from someone claiming to be a reliable source close to him a few months back that he has some "issues". What you see onscreen with Michael isnt too far from reality as the casting was perfect in more ways than one

Only good thing about this: NEW OPENING! rofl

lol...what makes you think that. Took them 2 years to properly update the last one...lol

This new Michael, well, looks gay judging by that pic.

I'd tune into GH again just to see Michael as daytime's first gay "made man," lol.

He doesn't look a lot different to me than Drew did. The only difference is hair and wardrobe.

Drew was always Acting and putting on a big performance; I never saw a character. I doubt this will change with a recast but I hope it does.

I'm shocked. Something had to have happened to have such a sudden turn around.

This new one looks younger.

Breaking news: General Hospital is recasting the role of Michael Corinthos. Drew Garrett will be exiting the part of Sonny and Carly's son, and actor Chad Duell will be taking over the role.

ABC issued the following statement on the recast: "We are recasting the role of Michael Corinthos Jr., the son of Sonny and Carly, with actor Chad Duell. His first airdate is Tuesday, April 20th. The continuing storyline will have viewers on the edge in the weeks leading up to May sweeps as Michael and his father frantically try to hide the truth that he murdered his stepmother Claudia.

We want to thank Drew Garrett for his time with General Hospital and wish him well in all his future endeavors."

Drew Garrett took over the role in April 2009, when Michael woke up from a nearly year-long coma.

Chad has appeared on shows such as The Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck.

They don't look a lot different to me. I thought they did something different with Garrett's hair when he played Michael. I can't remember. Either way, Michael is a worthless character and I can't see a recast changing that. The only difference might be less tics and "look at me I'm acting," like JJ had at that age. Then again there may be even more now. Either way, I think Michael is a dead end character. Thanks to poor writing, I can say that about Kristina too.

I hear this recast was awful on the Disney channel sitcoms he appeared on, I wonder how the bodes for him doing dramatic soap acting. LOL!

Bad acting will fit in with those Spencer genes...

Probably spells kill-off for November sweeps.
