If that's how you want to look at it. But to me it's a waste of everyone's time to ridicule this guy's column on a twice-weekly basis. And also kinda sad.

It's not a waste of my time :) I enjoy watching a Greyhound strike a Ford Pinto twice-weekly.

It's like watching a car wreck, you just can't turn away. Nelson at least is good for a laugh. He's basically the equivalent of a gossip columnist

... catsmeouch I've started to really enjoy your posts--but gotta disagree here. He writes stuff on a major official website that really shouldn't even be written on a blog. It's disgraceful to post opinion as fact, the way he does, and I don't find it that mean spirited to take pleasure in pointing out everything he gets wrong--the man deserves it--he's nasty and mean spirited about the soaps and people he doesn't like and warps everything to fit his bizarro logic.

Well, I sort of agree with you guys because I was really insulted by the way he constantly bashed (and sometimes still bashes) Passions. Guess I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

He hates my fave show AMC, and I admit that may play a part (the boycott he wanted of it last year, etc--even if I admit it wasn't at its best LOL). But it's obvious he doesn't even watch it (A year back he admitted AMC was never a soap he was a fan or grew up with--yet now he acts like he was a fan in the classic teras--he just says whatever he feels like saying at the time...)

I tend to skip his posts on AMC...because I also don't watch it, haha.

He also loses points for praising Y&R when it sucked last year and bashing it when it was good.

Big fan of Victoria Rowell here. But I was disheartened by her comments. I actually like Neil & Ashley together (I get I might be the only one!) and while I agree with VR that they are rushed, both KSJ and ED have been making silk out of the world's tiniest sow's ear. Respecting Y&R's black history is one thing -- and VR is absolutely right to point out Y&R's piecemeal tokenism. But I don't see how Neil & Ashley goes against that. After months out of sight, Kristoff finally has something to do other than guard Lily's hospital room door.

And woah, kicking Darius McCrary when he's down... he's miscast but a strong actor. Give him props for giving his all to a thankless recast.

I'm not surprised by VR's comments. She isn't about people of color sticking together. VR can say what she wants, but at least Darius has got a real acting gig and isn't deperately working a reality show like VR. Darius is doing a good job in the role. His Malcolm is different, but I find him warmer and more authentic that Shemar's Malcolm. I hope the criticism make TPTB stick with Darius like glue.

Victoria Rowell is great, but she overestimated herself and had no sense of diplomacy whatsoever. If she ever returns to daytime, it will be a miracle. Her behind-the-scenes antics are notorious and no one wants a ticking time bomb on their show.

And I'm actually okay with that. If she didn't like his acting then that's one thing but she says he's a solid actor so her problem with him seems to be that he's not Shemar. Well there's only one Shemar and he's tackling serial killers on Criminal Minds so how about judging the guy on his own merits? Being ticked off about how Y&R or soaps in general are failing on diversity is understandable but dumping on an actor already pushing the boulder uphill is tacky.

LOVE Kristoff & Eileen but not Neil/Ashely.

Mainly cause a horrible pairing that only exists to give both characters something to do & will end when Ashley goes crazy again.

She didn't diss him though.

She only said he was miscast but that he was a solid actor that could have been cast as a different LEADING character.

This is what I was clumsily trying to say. Why did she even go there with the miscasting comment? It was unnecessary. She bitches about diversity and when it happens, she pokes it because it isn't a perfect situation. Either be completely supportive of Darius or have nothing to say on the topic.
