TPTB also dropped Chloe's Cane obsession which had been built up for over a year

Did they do that so that they could keep Elizabeth Hendrickson on the show?

Pretty much.

I think they dropped the quad to appease the Lame fans who are a very vocal fanbase.

Nick: Why does Billy keep straightening my tie?

(Rafe and Adam smirk in the background)

Billy: Dude, Nick. Dude. Dude. DUDE. DUDE! Really? Dude!

This is how I remember it too. At the time I felt like they were trying to build up to something with Cane/Lily/Billy, with Cane possibly developing feelings for Chloe. At one time I even wondered if the two women would fight over Billy, with Cane moved along. Then the whole thing was wrapped up very, very fast.

Exactly.

TPTB had a bunch of scenes with Billy doing his best Jay Gatsby to court Lily & Cane gradually bonding with Chloe.

It was heinous.

Jill to Tucker: You're a son of a Bitch. Truer words were never spoken. Just because Katherine is old does not mean she is or has ever been a saint. I find it ridiculous that Katherine and folks would not research the company they were buying but I do like that Tucker has control. I certainly like him better than Victor.

Indeed.

It's no surprise the whole thing ended with Lame acting like self righteous martyrs to Billy & Chloe at the cabin/hospital.

Not like Lily would keep secrets or St. Cane would do anything duplicitous at all.

Possibly the only thing I will ever thank the lane fans for.

TPTB have made Jill SO stupid but at least she's not broke & running around the Caribbean with Jeff/Gloria.

Ugh.

Katherine's a saint so she can be the hip grandma to the twits known as the scoobies. The writing said Neil looked into Celltron and he said it was a good investment.

Then they should write that during his spare time he's head of security at White House state dinners.

I'm sure any real business people thoroughly investigate the share holders of every company they do business with, let alone buy. But TIIC are so inept at their own business why would they be better at knowing how any other works.

And the pacing makes it even worse.

In less than 6 months Tucker has managed to bed Jill, befriend Neil, hire JT & ransack Katherine's company.

Either Tucker's REALLY good or the population of Genoa City is REALLY stupid.

Sorry I don't think Victor or EB's return could save the episode from being crappy, which I though it was. Katherine's woe as me act was hideous, the confrontation scenes between Victor, Adam, and Nick was a huge letdown. At least they somehow halfheartedly managed to hit the Phyllis beat on Victor's return. Neil and Ashley are okay together, but I just can't see some Neil/Ashley/Victor thing occurring and I hope it doesn't. I actually liked Tucker's smugness if only because he managed to outwit a bunch of dimwitted characters presently on the canvas. Of course, none of the should be dimwitted and have only become so under this regime.

I wasted sixty mins of my life because I watched it live today. At least it induced a good afternoon nap for me.

WORD!

As I've been saying forever, everything on this show is so anticlimactic, and everything has a shoddy build up, so it's hard to invest.

Everyone looks like a damn idiot in this Tucker storyline.

I think Victor has been ruined since Colleen's death, and I don't think I can ever forget his role in all of that and then getting her heart as some type of prize after it. <_<

I love the idea -- based on the previews -- that Heather is a sexual aggressor. Didn't she also invite Adam up to her room?

That's actually a dangerous habit for a young woman...and I wonder if it won't come back to bite her down the road. I can't wait to see Paul if another of his "girls" (like Patty) gets sucked in by an Abbott manwhore.

But the truth of the matter is, I'm guessing Billy won't take her up on the invitation in the preview (even though I wish he would). I'm guessing this is a "character test" from his New Years epiphany...and he'll say "you're a beautiful woman, but I have another woman I love, and it wouldn't be fair to you". That's what I'm hoping.

Two other things:

- I enjoyed the Abbotts beginning to circle the wagons in battle--Jack realizing that Billy's skills and assets could be useful to him

- I loved (LOVED!) the stammering schoolboy way in which Neil approached Ashley. Kudos to both KSJ and ED for WORKING ON THE CHEMISTRY this time. They've both fizzled due to a lack of investment in some of their earlier pairings (e.g., ED and DD; KSJ and anyone since Rowell).

All in all, this episode had my attention. I have to say that will I admire William Russ' low key portrayal (it feels more natural--and colder--to me)...I'm eager to see this in the hands of Stefan Cassidine!

The "mentoring" relationship between Tucker and JT (I feel) could simulate GH's Stefan-and-Nicholas. I think Luckinbill could really grow in this role if they keep him there. Obviously Victor is going to blame Neil (fueling a romantic rivalry over Ashley) and blame JT (further driving a Victoria-JT wedge). BRING IT ON! TGVN, I'm so glad you're back!

Ah, wickedness on the bold part! Ye of little faith!

Did he really screw her over in business? I'm totally forgetting that. Can you remind me?

Neil and Ashley or "NASH" as some are calling them have already become my couple to root for. There have not been any other couples that I've actually enjoyed. But I'm enjoying NASH! Victor's jealousy will come shining through. The much sexier, younger, more charismatic guy who worked for him is now dating one of "his" women. Vic won't like that but I sure will! LOL! And that picture of SN as Tucker says it all IMO! He will be a total bastard and a very formidable foe for Victor!

I don't see anything other than friendship chemistry between Neil and Ashley, and if they do manage to hook up, watch their relationship be played twice a month, like Neil's previous relationships with those twits Karen and Tyra.

I wonder what Olivia would think about her BFF hooking up with her brother in law? Oh wait, they don't care...

Not that it matters after Olivia's Brad fiasco, but still, she has strong ties to both these characters.

The same thing Cricket would think about HER BFF hooking up with her ex husband.
