Oh, my gosh, Toups... I kind of feel the opposite. And I'm the eternal cheerleader. the Paul/Nina/Jill thing IS GREAT, if it can be followed through properly. But to be honest, it's the only thing keeping me watching right now. If they step over the line and have Ryder's mother be someone totally outlandish, then I think I'll have to go over to the dark side. At this point, the only person Ryder's mother could be and save any SHRED of realism (Which Y&R is supposed to be known for) would be Hilary Lancaster. But how much you wanna bet they'll go some evil twin, plastic surgery bullshit route.

But see, not even the Fisher-Baldwins are getting much play...sporadic stuff here and there. Not a single story pushes through. There is just too much going on on this show.

You read my outline from the other day?. Actually, yours is much better and better structured.

Yes, I think if viewers can just erase the whiteboard a bit...forgive some of the awful stuff of the summer (and yes, it requires a conscious act of forgiveness) things could get better. Caveat: Not if they keep fractionating their storytelling like this, so that no stories actually push through. It all feels like B and C story...no A.

Oh heavens! Don't listen to me

I'm a fanboi

Seriously, I thought this episode was better...a good mix of characters/actors/writers came together, and they dropped the plot-plot-plot a little bit for a day. I wasn't the salvation of the show, though, LOL.

Sure, but I've been waiting almost ten years for Hogan to ask forgiveness.

I would just like someone at this show to talk about the mess they've made, instead of it being the fault of daytime, or of fans, or of cast members, or of Sony.

This is a commercial product. I doubt they're every going to say "we screwed up".

And let's say they do. Ken Corday has done annual f*cking interviews in which he admitted to screwing up, and spewing out this year's plan to save Days. I see ZERO benefit or fan appreciation for this.

Yeah unless there is a massive overall core offense to the latter, sony, cbs, and the audience they will not do that and that's just business. KC was stuck in a place he had to do that he was losing the network at a very fast rate, Sony might have gotten on his back by then and the viewership was in worse shape than it had been in a long time. Let's be real Days viewers have been protesting and asking for acknowledgement for a long time before it was acknowledged

Soap writers or producers say "We made a mistake" plenty of times. That's not limited to Ken Corday. Even Jill Farren Phelps, not exactly known for catering to fan whims, has said as much. MAB has had no problem going to the soap press to be kissed up to and get told how she was Y&R's savior. She should get to hear the opposite as well.

MAB started off her run joking around about the crime rate dropping and then barely six months later we get the start of a long spate of hollow, gratuitous death, mayhem, and darkness, mixed with nonexistent characterization and actors who tank everything in sight. She obviously decided to betray what helped get her such hype in the first place (being the anti-LML) and then proceeded to just run roughshod all over the show for most of the year.

If they're going to get endless fawning for their work, then I think it's only natural for them to give us a little bit of mea culpa.

    • This better be something, because as I said, so far it's just cliches and stereotypes -- the story we've heard a thousand times about the homeless person who doesn't want a home and prefers to live on the streets.
    • @rsclassicfanforever thank you very much for the recent uploads of season 13 containing some episodes that were skipped or glitchy on YouTube!  I had a look at 3172 though and there is no audio for most of it? Would you have a copy with complete audio? Fingers crossed! Thanks again!

    • I like Margaret well enough in what I've seen of her as Paige - she is green but she has real star power.  I agree about the actor who plays Brian. He's...mostly just there. Not bad but not great.  My main issue is with the guy who plays Owen. He's just not appealing to me. I can believe Nola being obsessed with him, but he's draining to watch.  I'm surprised people objected to the quasi-incest elements as it wasn't anything that new for soaps.  Speaking of Kim, here's a rare episode of an anthology show she did called The Evil Touch.

    •   I get what you're both saying, and I think the show was lucky to have even made it that long, but I think they could have still maintained a certain audience - Second Chances did before the earthquake. CBS was an older network anyway. I think the premise of Knots was still usable, it was more the characters who were a problem - many of the older figures were played out. If the show had done a better job building up its younger cast instead of making so many poor choices in the late '80s and early '90s, they could have kept things going a little longer.
    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
