It's better than most. I think they have great lighting. Except the hospital, but hey - it's a hospital. It's supposed to be brightly lit. But I agree with bellcurve - say what you will about JFP, the woman knows how to make a show look freakin' awesome!

Thought the Sonny/Michael scene in the car today was AMAZINGLY lit. Too bad the dialogue driving the scene made me want to punch my television set. LOL!

Did you find the show awesome on Friday as most did.

I went back and watched Thurs, Fri, Mon,

I was actually disappointed. The only performer and thing remotely compelling was Sarah. Again she stood out.Everyone else was blah. Including the women. Laura Wright was ok, LLC don't have a clue what she was doing. But depsite the horrid story and dialogue the kid who plays Michael is very good. He and Sarah saved the storyline.

Drew Garrett needs to win the younger Actor Emmy next year, I can't think of any younger actor on daytime that was as good as he's been this year, and he's only been on GH for a few months.

GH also has a stellar directing team, and yes, the lighting on GH has become the most cinematic-like of all the soaps since GH's HD switch.

No, I did not. MB was horrendous. He butchered that soliloquy. The whole scene was preposterous. I agree that Sarah Brown was the best thing about the whole debacle. I'm not impressed by the Michael kid like others. I find him annoying and strange looking.

I find the show tends to be on the dark side, and it doesn't help everyone lives in dark houses.

I thought today was really well done in parts. The actual murder montage was a little more artistic than usual daytime fare, and I liked the end where you see Jason and his men disposing of the body. It helps to show them as the horrorshows they are sometimes. Max and Milo are cute and lovable teddybears around Diane and Lulu, but they and Jason aren't the cuddly plush toys the show likes to portray them as.

I did feel sorry for Claudia though. Sonny wound up with the business she dreamed of inheriting, Sonny's daughter murdered her baby and her parents made sure there was no charges, now his son finished the job and killed her. And now no one will miss her, not even her own brother, she is a dead body laying on the side of a field somewhere burned beyond recognition. The show and its fetish for nihilism can sometimes make for good scenes, but it is such a hollow enjoyment.

And now, everyone in town take a deep breath because James Franco is next on the assembly line and the show can do it all over again.

He's good, but he also has endless material which is written as a showcase. I can't get into the hype with him until I see whether he survives. This show has had too many like Tyler and Julie Marie Berman who are all hype then sink into the mire within a few years.

I find he has the most expressive eyes. He reminds me of Hayden Christensen. He, the guy who plays Keifer, and the guy who plays Ethan are all winners the show should be proud of. The girl who plays Molly too, the boy who plays Morgan. Only the girl who plays Kristina I think is bit of a weak link. She is ok with Keifer and has this sour face perfect for these misery scenes, but that's about it.

That was pretty f*SJing disgusting. I'm so annoyed that, not only did they kill off Claudia in a heineous and gruesome way, but that they all just kind of smiled and cooed like nothing ever happened.

I almost expected the rats in the shanty to come and eat her up, like Kenny from South Park.

Vile and gross. But hey, at least it looked good.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
