Traci was awesome, there is no getting around that. But soaps are not movies. Soaps have the luxury of time. They can show every beat and give the kind of build up and payoff that only the very best movies can give. In fact, I've never wept for a movie character the way I did for Cassie because I had lived Cassie's life story with her over a period of years.

They had the opportunity to do the same thing with Colleen, but they failed. They really shouldn't have even gone there anyhow for so many reasons.

The question is are they writing for viewers with long memories or for newer viewers?

I did grieve with Traci and I think Beth Maitland should be very proud of her work, but in their mind, was Traci just the rarely seen mother of some bimbo viewers didn't care about?

The real emphasis, and grieving, seemed to be with the Newmans, over Victor. It's supposed to be some type of an honor for Traci if her daughter's heart goes to Victor.

Sorry Mark, there is no way I want to see Adam and Ashley romantically together. This is the man who caused her to miscarry, threw her dead fetus into a fireplace, cleaned her up, blackmailed a sexual mollestor to be her OB and has used her caring for him and her kindness to continue to torture her for months on end.

He has taken away her child, her mind and her dignity and I would never, ever want to see him and Ashley as a couple. I can't see him with anyone at this point. I don't care if he did choke out a few tears and now claims he is sorry for what he has done. It is too late for that. Adam needs to be caught, preferably by Ashley, so that she can feel empowered again, sent away to prison and maybe he can come back in a couple years. Recasted.

I just got through with today's episode, and I thought she was GOOD. It's what I would expect from a teenager. And believe me... I've been dumping on this girl for quite some time now, but from this week's performance's... I can see she's really TRYING. And she is improving. She's even getting better at not smiling when she's upset or crying. (People criticize Kate Linder for this as well, but those insensitive OAFS just can't see the OBVIOUS, that her overbite is what prevents her from a proper "frown") Before I wanted Hayley Erin GONE... TODAY. But after watching this week, I'm willing to give the girl a chance.

I know... the ONLY thing that works with Adam/Ashley, is that now he DOESN'T look 20 years younger than her. I have to admit, my biggest problem is that Adam is supposed to be what.. 26? 27?, and he's being played by an actor that doens't look 35... HE LOOKS FORTY. Every time I see him, I see someone who for all the world looks to be MY AGE (And don't judge that statement by my avatar, I was 34 in that picture)If he would grow his hair out a LITTLE, get some SOFTNESS around his face, and get him to tie on the feedbag and gain 10 pounds, it might help... at least he won't look like Karen Carpenter's lost twin.

I would almost tolerate Adam/Ashley if the story ended with Ashley realizing what he had done to her and trapping him and making him pay. Instead I think it will end with Nick and Victor learning the truth, Ashley not wanting to believe them, and then they have to save Ashley from herself, yet again.

There needs to be a payoff in this stupid and inane gaslighting story. Ashley needs to find out how Adam intentionally victimized her and led her to believe she was going nuts. No one can ever forget the crap Adam's pulled at this point, it's just too huge and too much.

The hack writers really screwed up the Adam character, Muhney just made things worse with his take on the role.

Ashley needs to get her piece of mind back, and I don't think she can ever forgive Adam for all he's done to her. But then again, we are dealing with horribly uncreative and lazy writers who do everything for shock value.

I agree with you I havn't been watching just keeping up sometimes through daily summaries, but umm I agree with u about the Ashley character. She's extremely pathetic and weakly. I find Patty's character more intriguing than Ashley at this point (that's not saying much). I don't see Ashley as a heroine. I can't begin to sympathize with her character until they find a way to give her back some dignity. I don't want her to go the Patty route, but I do want her to get at least the BIT OF backbone that were indicated at times. I must say IMO Hogan's take on the character's worked for me on DOOL, they were exciting again. Someone needs to curb him here @ Y7R and if not get someone who gets the characters. I'm not saying all the writing FLAWS are complelty his fault but I do see the similarities. The women are made too pathetic. Neutralize it a bit more please....

From what I have seen of Muhney I think he's giving them (TPTB) exactly what they want for the role. He's a pro and it shows to me, however I think now Y&R u'd see why myself and a few other's appreciated CE in the role. He at least kept ADAM relatable to some extent.
