GIMME DA DAMN GUN!

Watching Monday's Y&R and laughing for all the wrong reasons. LOL. I've seen sixties westerns that had more realistic shootings than this.

Anthony Morina should be ashamed for this hack directing job. I know the writing wasn't there, but Jesus...LOL. This was baaaaad.

This isn't a spoiler, so don't lash out another warning there, Toups! ;)

Nelson Branco's said they've signed Haiduk to a multi-year contract and Stacy's told him bits of her "redemption story."

At this point, and after all the damage she's caused, I think very few people will buy a quickie redemption arc, especially considering the pacing on this show.

Restless Style is Y&R's equivalent to Fusion.

Her and Phyllis will become BFF's and Phyllis will forgive for causing permanent brain damage to her daughter.

Though, thankfully, Restless Style been backburned for a while now. Hopefully the next regime will kill it and burn that ugly set down. that thing has been a flop since day one.

I don't think they care what viewers will buy. I wouldn't mind Stacy staying around, but the very possible thought that she will be the only remaining Williams on the canvas is sobering.

I think they will have Patty falsely accused of crimes she hasn't committed, and then she will say, I was honest and no one believed me, so now I will go off again, and they will use this to have her be involved in more plot-driven stunts.

Actually, all this talk of trying to get the show cancelled, I don't know about that... BUT -

if the ratings go down, that's an excuse to cut the budget right? When it comes time to negotiate His Majesty Eric Braeden's contract (which I guess they're doing right now? but I mean hypothetically), and he says what they're offering is unreasonable because he is the lead on the #1 show in daytime...

...what if it wasn't #1? They lose all their prestige and numbers go down all across the board, budget... whatever.

Think about it: Even Y&R isn't on solid grounding. I see ATWT gone in a year. If they can decimate Y&R into a free-fall, and de-throne it then cancel it, and then probably sell B&B internationally, (I could see that. CBS announces B&B is ending, some international station would dish out the money to keep it going and dub it or whatever... B&B is an international brand more than any other show) and then badda bing. CBS can run all sorts of shitty gamehsows or whatever it wants for a quarter of the price, because Daytime is now seen as a [!@#$%^&*] market anyway. Who's home and who cares to watch at that time of day?

Also, Soaps have HUGE casts... thats a big cost right there)

There's obviously still some tension between Adam and Nick, at least that hasn't really went away since MM took over the role.

I always thought this is where the story for the character of Adam should have been concentrated - in his rivalry with Nick and Victoria. And sure, some bitterness toward Victor for (what Adam perceived) as abandoning him at a young age. That would have made for a more compelling story that this one-note crazy dude that hates his father for no apparent reason.

I guess you could say that I was "happy" or "surprised" to see (at least to me) that MM and JM have some of that tension still and perhaps the writers could go more in that direction? I doubt it but....

Oh man, can I just tell you what a satisfying rivalry that was when Engen was in the role? Back when EB was going on vacation Victor was turning his back on the ranch and the family, CE's Adam essentially told Nick to get out of the place. Nick snarled "Don't tell me what to do, boyyyyyy" and grabbed Pipsqueak's collar. Adam literally clawed at his face and they had to be pulled apart.

I really rooted for Adam back then. And I was so excited about the potential of this outsider sibling against the snooty Newman kids who always thought they were Victor's only "true" heirs. It makes me sad to think about it now.

I also remember being a HUGE fan of Billy Miller when he came on the show. HUGE. He was a breath of fresh air. I can't deal with his lazy acting at the moment, though. That scene where he boohooed about being responsible for Colleen's death oozed with fakery and insincerity. Again, it hurts to watch because I really do think Miller has got talent and I would love to see him in SLs that befit the fact that he could be a young Peter Bergman/Terry Lester.

Seeing MTS was awesome yesterday. I felt so bad for "my" Ashley, though, who is only now buying a clue and growing a spine. Not only is she suffering a hysterical pregnancy (the truth will devastate her when it comes out), but she know realizes once and for all that Victor doesn't love her, he only loves Nikkeh.

I'm totally with ya regarding the rivalry days with CE playing Adam. I rooted for him too and remember that scene very well. Floved it! It is pathetic what a promising story that could have been had the writers had the "balls" (to quote Hogan) to continue with it. Instead they turned Adam into a baby killer. <sigh>

What I'm not getting is all the Miller hate lately! Simma down now! Simma down y'all on Billy! :-) I can see some of the arguments with him, but I still like the guy, although his alter-ego Abbott (like alot of others on the show) needs some work. I still have confidence that my man Miller can pull it off if the character were written differently. I mean, it's not like we're dealing with another CK situation with Miller, are we?!?!? :-(

It is about time Ashley grew hers back, too. There are some hints that she is getting there and I hope the writers aren't teasing us! She's always been a strong woman - for the most part - and it's about time the "old" Ashley reappeared again. Like Yesterday.

I think the only way Ashley can ever have any spine is if she is away from Victor. Any relationship between these two was shot to pieces for me back when she stole his sperm. I still hate that story and at the time I did not believe a woman could be written as any more pathetic than Ashley was in that story. Even then, Eileen and Eric had some chemistry, but I haven't seen a drop since her return last year. The main problem with Ashley is there is no Ashley. She's Victor's crazy wife and failed brood mare. Any other fragment of her personality seems to be MIA. One of the backbones of Ashley's character was her work at Jabot and at Newman, and this regime does not do business stories. At this point I would even settle for Ashley running a lemonade stand.

As for Billy, I either want all of his stories from now on to have heavy involvement with his family, or to just cut ties with them. Just say "This is too hard for me" and gnash his teeth on Mac's shoulder, and don't have scenes with Jack or Ashley or Abby AKA Cher Horrorhalfwitz. They can't have it both ways, where the only interest he has in life is controlling women, then every few months, they suddenly make family crises all about him so they can pretend he gives a damn. I would also hope they can stop trying to peddle him as the young Jack, or phase Jack out to prop Billy. I don't know if Miller has the chops to do what Terry Lester did at that part of Jack's life, and to be fair to Miller, even if he did, the writing sure isn't going to show it. And there is no John figure (I don't count Jack as the new John -- John was never the family scapegoat), so that is a huge part of Jack's character which does not fit Billy.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
