GH: August Discussion Thread

Whenever I see he or Steve Burton on screen I literally scream. Steve has slimmed down. Tyler keep ballooning. JFP needs to pay more attention to her out of shape actors then on the actresses hair.

I liked Sam with Lucky, with Jason not so much. I can tolerate Jason and Sam, but their reunion is so dry. There is no romance and no love.

I can't see Guza giving Nikolas another kid. He does not spend time with Spencer as it is. Somehow Rebecca may turn out to be Emily. Liz has other women's men so Nikolas fits right in there.

Guza never appreciated Maxie and now he ruined her by pairing with horrific Spinelli. Makes me ill.

Robin and Patrick are barely on. I don't understand why Guza cannot tell more than two stories at once. It is not hard, but nooooooo... the mob must get 80% of the airtime time.

No one is concerned about Kristina and Michael being on the run so what is the point of that story?

Steve Burton looks like he did some roids to lose fat and bulk up. He is nowhere close to looking normally built.

ITA that JMB has no chem with her romantic partners. Guza won't do it, but he would be smarter to pair her with Matt in a light fun romance. She may do better.

I watch GH off and on and the show sucks but it's like not being able to give up an addition. You know it's bad but sometimes can't stop

I hate every character on this show except Lucky, Jax, Alexis, Robin, and Patrick. And the first 4 is really more about their history than today's stories.

I do like Jasam but LuSam was love. They could have kept Liz with Jason for all I care. Both bore me to tears and I can't stand her self righteousness

Nikolas should have no kids. There was no point to giving him one other than to clean up Nikolas after the Courtney debacle.

Not an Emily fan but I'd love to see all this blow up for Nikolas if Rebecca turns out to be her and he has to deal with hurting her.

Maxie I am sickened over. GH took some endearing qualities this couple had and made them the entire couple and they are a disaster.

JOhnny I like as I do Dante. Not an Olivia fan and I actually don't mind Claudia. She and Sonny are both disgusting messes and deserve each other.

Completely bored to tears with Carly and JAx.

And I do think Lulu could work with Matt in something light.

I love Robin and like Mac, Lucky, Alexis, Matt. I like Patrick when he isn't acting like an ass. I can tolerate Lulu on some days. I use to like Nikolas and Maxie, but hate them both now. I hate all the mob characters, their sycophants and relatives with a fiery passion. Hate Luke and Ethan also.

Guza has got to do something different JMB, but I doubt that he will. He wants her to be the new Carly and it is not working.

JMB as the new Carly? Oy. When they made her like Carly, screeching all the time, I hated her with a passion. She's tolerable now but the actress still have very little romantic chemistry. I watched the scene with Dante today and the kiss and it was blah. JOhnny was sexless with her and with Maxie and now Olivia, he's come alive.

I thought that JMB would leave this fall. She was supposed to be filming a movie and a pilot this summer. The movie fell through. In this economy, it would be difficult for her to quit without another job lined up, but if she does not leave now, she will lose her window of opportunity. If she decides to stay, Guza should stop pairing Lulu with these troubled guys with dangerous backgrounds and secrets. For a young character, she has been through too many men. At this rate, she will be the female Sonny. Not a compliment.

If that Nikolas's plan, I can't help but to root for Rebecca in this storyline. Nikolas is becoming very annoying at this point. TC/RH have great chemistry, but then again, I can't seem them together long term. Elizabeth has her kids around her constantly, Nikolas barely sees Spencer. I think it will create some good angst with Lucky when he finds out about their stolen glances, but overall it might not work out.

Maxie and Spinelli are becoming VERY boring and it seems to be the same routine with them every day. I know it's a big deal that they're planning this wedding

, but it's ruining the characters.

I tend to FF through most Spin & Maxie because I really cannot take the cutesy antics. Plus when Maxie was telling Spinelli he was the best lover she ever had... It contrasted with Olivia & Johnny who have chemistry up the wazoo.

LooLoo has more chemistry with her brother Ethan than any non-related guy on the show. They really should give up now. Seeing her jut her jaw at Dominic (who BTW is growing his hair out fetchingly) reminded me of the Bad Ole Days when they force-fed us JoLu and Lu-Whatshisname Scott Baldwin's Texan son. Shudder.

Damn. Kelly Monaco is working this JaSam stuff so hard. Almost too hard. JaSam's time has been and gone and I can only imagine that this was Fronsie's bright idea. ITA with whoever said LuSam was great. They were smoking. Monaco and Vaughan in a hot tub? Who on earth thought that was a bad idea?

Pillsbury Doughboy needs to wake up in this Gaslighting SL. This is BY FAR the best Nikolas has gotten in years. Anybody remember Pirates of My Pants? The Garden of Love? Connor Bishop (although the actress who played Connor's wife was excellent)? Red-Porn Courtney porkfest? Emily's gross death and Tumor Emily? The reeking anti-chemistry that was Nik & Nadine? I could go on. And on! Needless to say, The Cassadine Dark Side is the best sh!t Prince Chunk-a-lot has gotten in over a decade. He needs to work it like Kelly Monaco in a wifebeater.

Lulu - they need to get rid of the actress. She's been on the show for 4 years and has already had 3 pairings. Dillon, Logan, Johnny.

I don't mind Jasam although I prefer LuSam and I love Kelly Monaco regardless

TC is not a good actor. It amazes me people still think he is. He's either sleepwalking in his scenes or OTT hammy. I agree he's gotten nothing for material the past few years(although everyone but his brother felt he was robbed of an emmy nom for Emily's death - not me by the way), but I think they should recast the role. He obviously can't even stay in proper shape so that he appears on screen halfway decent looking much less his overrated acting skills.

LOL! Steve Burton tweeted about doing cardio. As if. He pumped himself full of steroids which is why he has that swollen head and upper body going on. TC looked horrible again today. His face and upper body are out of control. It has been years of weight gain and loss with these two and Phelps has done nothing. If it was one of the actresses, she would be out.

Spinelli and Maxie make me physically ill. They are the original dumb and dumber.

Robin and Patrick get 10 minutes per week to have same conversation over and over.

I just about laughed today at those Alexis, Diane, Nikolas scenes. I watched TC/Nikolas standing there stiff as a board and Alexis calling him Stefan and the dark Prince. He looked bloated and stiff IMO and dark was something I thought TC could do. He needs some lessons from Stephan Nichols who played Stefan and a little twisted and dark to perfection. I wouldn't had known he was a "dark Prince" if Diane and Alexis would not have told me about 10 times. He just seemed annoyed and whiny not arrogant and entitled.

Steve Burton, I wondered about him because while he's actually slimmed down somewhat, his face looks pretty odd, almost blotchy at times. It's sad that Kelly Monaco who's Sam was fun and adverturous and confident with Lucky has again been saddled with Jason. I picture her back in Jason's penthouse crying and whining in no time.

Spinelli, MAxie? Even people I know who loved this couple some time back hate them. They are totally ridiculous. I was really liking the character of Maxie when they had her more of a vixen and bad girl. She's become a cartoon character like her paramour.

JOhnny and Olivia. Not enjoyable anymore at all. The character of Olivia is the new Carly, Kate, whatever and takes up so much airtime it's annoying. The only good part is Johnny who's become an interesting character away from Lulu well at least as interesting as one can be on GH.

Patrick and robin - I know so many love them. They bore me to tears. I enjoyed very early Robin and Patrick when Patrick still had a personality, was arrogant, entitled, cocky, a womanizer. This Patrick has been morphed to fit "the perfect marriage" and had become deadly dull. Robin I have not recognized since KMc returned to the role in 2005. Guza writes her like an insecure, boring, shrew. The only time I've enjoyed Robin since her return has been some of the early courtship/banter she and Real Patrick had early on.

Ain't that the truth. Jason ruins all his love interests. Sam was so spunky when she was with Lucky. They had a solid relationship. Guza will never let Lucky get the girl.

I HATE Spinelli. I used to love Maxie, now I dislike her. I will never believe the Maxie who I adored would ever fall in love or be attracted to That.

I love Robin, but I know that it is mostly sentimental. When I see her, I see the little girl that I have adored since she arrived at Robert's house when she was 6 years old. I dislike how Guza writes Robin, but I mostly dislike how Guza makes her caution about becoming sexually or romantically involved seem like some kind of character defect and I mean, irrespective of whether or not she has HIV. I hated the "early courtship/banter" that Robin had with Patrick. It was ridiculous that any woman would be responsive to man who consistently insulted her personally as well as her work and threw other women in her face. WTF was that? Guza always putting Carly up as the paragon of sexuality and attractiveness in a woman makes me ill.

I can take or leave Patrick. I never understood how any man who insults women and flirts with other women in their face could be the big time playa that Guza was trying to make Patrick out to be. Successful playas are charming and seduce women by treating them as if they are special. Something that Patrick never did. I never understood why would a playa like Patrick be interested in Robin who is HIV positive and not comfortable with a casual sexual relationship when there were tons of other women out there. There was never an indication that he found her special even after she risked her career to save his father's life, Patrick continued to treat her like dirt. Hell, he only entered a committed relationship with her because he got stuck with an infected needle. So much romance. Bad writing all the way around. The only thing that I ever liked about Patrick was that he treated the mob characters like the dirtbags that they are, but now he is friendly with Sonny and goes easy on Jason.

All this said, although I think the writing for Robin and Patrick as a couple has been dreck, the actors are good together and have sold me on them as a couple. Since the PPD, I find them sweet and loving for the most part, a rarity on this soap. The medical mystery started off interesting and then Guza lost interest. Married soap couples don't have to boring. I never found Frisco and Felicia were boring after they were married. Robin and Patrick need better writing which no one gets on this show.

The ABC soaps are a hot mess. Jason, the "good" mob killer pulls a gun on a young boy in the broad daylight which matches David shoving a gun on Liza's chest. Pratt and Guza are boys who fantasize about shoot people. They should play video games not write soaps for a living.

If GH did not insist making almost every male/female friendship into a fling or romance, it would not be in this mess with Spinelli and Maxie. Guza should have kept Spinelli a sidekick. It was delusional to make him a leading man no matter how popular he was with focus groups. Spinelli and Maxie should have been only friends. It is impossible to believe that she could fall in love with Spinelli. If Guza had not killed of Georgie like a fool, a minor fun romance between Georgie and Spinelli would have been far more believe.
