Glad to Ed Bauer on today - not glad that St. jeff is still alive and now fear he will ruin Josh/Reva getting back together - have a feeling we will see DAM [Edmund] B4 GL goes off and they will clear up Jon Doe in the lake.

Even worse, a character that everybody except Ellen Wheeler hates, that isn't even dead! Sadly, I can't say I'm surprise that she wasted nearly a month on Rapist-worship only to bring the slimy bastard back alive. Although I must say that I got a kick out of the fact that Rapist has apparently been stumbling in the woods for a while now, yet is remarkably clean-shaven. More so than he ever was when he lived in the civilized world.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that interview with Maureen Garrett! She is as awesome and direct as Holly herself and then some. Her appearance (and she'd better damn well share scenes with Peter Simon or I might get violent!) is pretty much the only thing I'm looking forward to as we near the end here.

They could blame all of Edmund bad stuff on John Doe in the lake - they make excuses and gloss over other characters crimes - so why not Eddie - do not want Edmund to be killed just to make St. jeff a hero - on the other hand GL is going off and DAM is going to Mamma Mia - maybe Edmund should sing S.O.S on GL, but there is no one that will save our soap now - TPTB killed our GL - IMO.

The show still has way too much Lurch and Marina. I am tired of seeing them. I am only watching for the big returns. There isnt one story I like but it's nice to see Vanessa preparing for Dinah's wedding.

I'm still a little bit behind but I was just at some of the scenes where the Coopers found out Cyrus had been giving them stolen money in secret and while I can understand their anger, the BITTERNESS from all of them threw me. I remember the Coopers as a funny and tough family who fought and who had problems but always tried to find something to look up to. I miss the old days of Harley, Nadine, and Frank. I will never stop missing Nadine, even long after GL is only a memory.

Marina's bitterness is especially ever-present and alienating. I can't believe the spitfire days of Aubrey Dollar have turned into this pill. The only time I have ever seen her more warm, slightly, is with Shayne.

As for the stories I am liking the Alan/Phillip story, I know this is a big rewrite but I'm glad to see Alan get some shadings.

Maeve :( She was one of the first who drew me into GL. No one else in the business has a voice or presence or style similar to her. She would have been one of the big Hollywood screen goddesses in an earlier era. GL has gone so wrong over the past few decades but I'm glad that to the end Vanessa remained and managed to keep her dignity.

    • She needs to learn to be honest with her husband about her lusty interests because being sex positive only works if you're not cheating on your spouse.

    • Very disappointed in the writers in the way they are screwing with Nicole, Ted,  and Kat to make Leslie remain viable. So many holes everywhere.
    • Somebody brought this up elsewhere which emphasizes why this NuTed appears as such a weakling. Why is Kat doing what HE should be doing? And that's everything he can to rid him and his family of this crazy woman. Kat is doing all kinds of things she shouldn't do but now I understand her more. She can't count on her father to eliminate this woman because he's a wimp. He's been too busy inviting her into his home and serving her drinks and offering her invitations to birthday parties. WIMP!!!!

    • This is (maybe) overly simplistic and nonsoapy, but Doug needs to go to Gamblers Anonymous, to deal with the addictive neurological excitement hits that gambling gives him - and which control his life. Vanessa needs to go to therapy to find ways to remain healthfully lusty and sex-positive, but to stay away from anyone who would demean her.
    • YT keeps commending GL clips to me. I discovered Kathleen Cullen was on in Christmas 1987. Was there any talk of making it permanent  or was this just a special visit? I wish they had made the visit permanent. I liked her chemistry with Grant Aleksander.
    • I'm not sure it's as unpopular as you think.  I just think the show knew they were in a bind, and needed a proven couple for the viewers to invest in. Trying to reunite Vanessa and Ross had just failed in 87. I don't think Ed and Holly's affair was well received, as Simon and Garrett had a brother/sister chemistry. Enter Billy and Vanessa, who give you history and an out not to try and do a Josh/Reva/Billy triangle, which would've really wrecked the relationship between Josh and Billy. I'd have been ok with trying Vanessa/Ross again, and doing a Vanessa/Ross/Holly/Billy quad for a while. I hated Nadine. HATED. She had to be the most insufferable also-ran before ATWT's Julia Lindsay. This is where I wish I knew Roger's history better.

    • GROSS. Michael Swan was hot back in his ATWT days. Now he's 76 and WAY past his hot years.
    • Since she kidnapped, locked up and tried to kill her father's wife I'd say that is still a pretty big deal
