I wonder if ABC soaps have a ratings cut off point like GL did to keep from being cancelled? Cause they're starting to venture into GL territory.

I like what someone said, it's not the medium that's in trouble, it's the people in charge of it. I agree, cause look at Days, it was written off and rebounded in a way that surprised everyone

I hear strong rumors that ATWT needs to get back up to a 2.1 in HHs or it will get cancelled. It won't happen with Goutman in charge. All of the net people are encouraging Goutman to fire Passanante but he wont. I hear Goutman already knows what ATWT needs to stay on the air. But the man won't budge to fix the mess. He continues to hire ABC actors to the show instead of writing for his vets he has on the show.

Goutman needs to bring back Martha B. back too. But Goutman refuses to listen and he will get ATWT cancelled.

I like Todd/TSJ and FL. I dont care for John or the stupid Stacy/Rex/Gigi triangle. IMO they are all sucky actors. So there is not much that I currently like about the show. I read the spoiler about Erica and Ryan. That was enough for me not to tune in to AMC anymore.

GH has always been about Sonny or Luke...neither appeals to me. So I dont watch it regularly.

I feel better now. I thought if only I liked TSJ, I'd enjoy more of OLTL.

I get that the show isn't great but there's usually some part of most episodes I enjoy, I just have to wade through the misogynist crap and the bad couples.

GH is about Sonny's kids now, AND Sonny, so you have to tune in!

B&B is boring me to tears .....GL has some vets back but all they do is mumble to each other with no real story. Why are Michelle and Danny back? They looked so out of place in today's show.

Even if ATWT did get back to 2.1 I think CBS would still cancel. They probably want that extra hour back. I think B&B is only on the air still because it's tied to Y&R.

As for Frons not being fired I wonder if ABC even cares about their soaps now. They may just be keeping him for Soapnet. He obviously has no use for soaps and never did.

Ish like that pisses me off. People DELIBERATELY trying to get soaps cancelled. That's when Bloom needs to get off her lazy ass and fire Goutman

GL's use of returning faces has been disappointing. You're right they have no story and few ties to each other. I surprised myself by liking Michelle this time around (NOT a NSA fan) and I liked the Marina/Danny scene. I didn't really expect a lot there. I was disappointed we didn't see more of Mindy. They also should have brought Roxie, Rusty, or Cassie back to spend time with Reva. Hawk was nice but not enough.

I'm sure there is a breakeven point. It's different than GL's because it was produced by P&G and purchased by the network. The network had a much easier analysis to determine their breakeven. ABC is more invested. But they also have different revenue streams.

I find it funny that OLTL is ahead of both AMC and GH in the ratings. Looks like the red-headed stepsister is now the top ABC soap. Crazy, but I like it.

I don't think of it as OLTL being the top soap but that the others just happen to be lower. The whole line up sucks. The fact that OLTL sucks slightly less this week is hardly cause for music and feasting. JMHO.

AMC is just going through the motions and GH's big idea of change is turning the show over to 2 teeny-boppers and giving Sonny another freakin kid who of course is a stinkin gangster!

I'm waiting for ATWT to topple GH in the ratings, even if it's for one week only.

I don't think that there is any real difference in quality among the 3 ABC soaps. They all have similar structures now. Mysteries, twin sisters, dominant male characters, and weak female characters.

I want to see if GH has regained any of its women 18-49 demo despite losing overall viewers.

AMC is plot device after plot device. Seriously the Liza giving "birth" scenes were beyond cringeworthy from the writing to the acting.

Pratt nor Guza seem to be fond of female characters in general, given their core audiences tend to be women, not a good thing

Peter Simon had a previous commitment, apparently. JvD probably can't leave OLTL for a brief return; even if he could I doubt GL would bring him back. I have given up on seeing Holly again.

I think it has more to do with the fact that Mindy has nothing to do. There is no real story for her or the Four Musketeers. It's like a high school reunion party with nothing else to see.

The barbecue was ok and I did catch the new Bauer kitchen. I would have been better to have the bbq in the Bauer patio set. The whole being outdoors was so jarring for me.
