I feel bad for Jack but I am getting aweary with the Quad because Jack, Phyllis and Sharon are basically all victims of Nick's mood swings. He wants Phyllis. He wants Sharon. He wants Phyllis. He wants Sharon. He wants to be a dad to Summer. He wants a baby with Sharon. He likes the Brewers. He likes the Cubs. He wants a ham sandwich. No, he wants a tuna sandwich. Scratch that, back to ham. With mustard. No Mayo. No wait. He wants tuna. With extra mayo. He wants to work with Victor. He wants to be his own man. He wants Sharon. He wants Phyllis. He wants Sharon. Is it time for dinner yet?

I cannot stand Nick any more. He is so slimy. He never loses anything, never pays a price for things that he has done. He abandons his grieving wife and son and gets a replacement wife and daughter. He goes back and forth between Phyllis and Sharon and neither of them kick him to the curb. Sickening. I really blame both Sharon and Phyllis at this point. I wish the writers would give them some freaking pride. I hate that Jack has become a doormat in this whole mess. I'm sick of this triangle/quad. I only wish that Nick would be left alone, but that will never happen.

I was glad that Chloe had enough pride to leave Billy. I hope that she does not cave in and go back to him. She and Delia need to move on with their lives.

I never minded Jack losing to Victor because Victor is so ruthless, I could buy him winning. But Jack losing to Nick? All the time now? Both Phyllis and Sharon totally prefer Nick to Jack? Really? Jack is a man and Nick is such a boy. Noah is more mature than Nick.

I know you are being serious, but this made me :lol: . Yes, dmarex, they are AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. I only hope this new story takes them someplace darker and more realistic, before they leave town.

He's interesting. He has such a nice energy. He felt totally natural to me. I think he's matured a bit as an actor since we last saw him.

Yes, especially if we end up liking Raul-Mac more than Billy-Mac. Then sending Raul away again will be a disaster...like letting us have a little taste of a delicious meal that we can't eat.

:lol::lol::lol:

Even Joshua Morrow acknowledges that it is currently his function to be the *sshole...he talked about that in his last interview with Michael Fairman. He actually feared this would make his character unredeemable, but Michelle Stafford placated him with a line like "All they have to do is look at your smile, and you have them again!" or something like that.

EVERYONE is irritated with Nick now. That is the point.

I do believe that Nick will end up alone for a time. And that will be interesting to watch. Except I fear he'll glom on to some new, third woman...random...like Ashley or Mac or Heather....

Dudes like Nick can't be alone for long.

Nick is irredeemable. His promise to love any woman now is forever a joke. The character is now the soap version of John Edwards. Which would not bother me if the soap had some heroic bright characters to counter all the douchebags on the show. That's another reason I want Raul/David Lago to stay. We don't have any true good guys on canvas. I don't mean "good" just because they're not actively douchey (Daniel, Kevin), I mean good as in heroic. I think the complaints about Nick, Billy, Adam and all the other messed up characters would dry up pretty quickly if we had prominent good guys like Raul & JT, who were out there as counterpoints to the creeps. Even AMC, with all its problems, has decided good guys in Jesse, Frankie, Brot, Jake, and Scott. Besides visiting Raul and always off-screen JT, are there any genuinely heroic guys on the shows?

Apparently, the Newmans never lose. Nick simply has no character. He isn't even a good man. Other than his looks and body, there is nothing to him. It is hard to believe that both Sharon and Phyllis are so shallow, but they simply must be because there is no other explanation.

Billy has become such a disappointment. Between sleeping with mentally unstable Sharon and his drooling over Mac, I'm disgusted. Why doesn't he leave Chloe? With exception of Katherine and Murphy, the men have the upper hand in all these relationships and it has become very annoying.

Well Raul isn't all that of a exciting character. But still I wish Lily go find herself. Or at least question her judgement in her love life. I think the writers thinking we like seeing Lily with a guy & no goals

Her new love interest is between Raul depending how long he stays or

.

    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
