I'm surprised the soap blogs aren't covering the reunion. Here are some write ups I found...

Soap Opera Digest: http://www.soapoperadigest.com/photos/passions-fan-festival/

LA Weekly: http://www.laweekly.com/arts/fans-celebrate-passions-the-weirdest-soap-opera-in-the-history-of-daytime-tv-8459016

Lena Cardwell (original Simone) has finally come out of hiding! She looks good.

Brook Kerr literally never ages. Donn Swaby on the other hand lol

Reading this early preview of Passions makes Theresa sound like a vixen.

Also, interesting to note Jason Olive’s role of Frank seems like it was meant to be bigger. It lists his character name as Frank Petito which ends up being Frank Lomax.

I would have to say Grace and Charity.  I have always given any new soap a watch for at least the first year.  However, I remember that when I checked back in for the introduction of Paloma and the return of Martin that neither Grace nor Charity was on the show.  This was odd given that first year centered on those two characters.

I have a hypothesis that as a writer it would be difficult to have both good and bad witches on the same show.  Once either Charity or Grace knew about their powers, which was inevitable, there wouldn't be soap plot that they couldn't immediately solve.  If murder mysteries, long lost children, and unrequited lovers could all be magically resolved there would be no dramatic tension.  So, that's my theory why all of the good witched were written out in the first few years and no other magical forces of good were ever introduced.

It does not explain the build up for the return of Martin that wound up not having any impact on the story.  Or the continuing references to Allister sexually abusing Theresa that turned me off Passions for good.

    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
