I would love to know too... But I don't know how to find these things exactly. I know there are people who probably do know. Maybe you guys could help. These are the credits at the end of the episode.

And I agree - the scene was beautifully written and acted. Something that I rarely, if not even... never see these days. And the pacing... the tempo of the whole episode... no rush... long scenes - just marvelous.

I cried for so long and thankfully my husband was there to hug me. He also got little emotional which is incredibly rare for him. He is beginning to love the show in his own way. Hates Vicky and Iris, likes Sharlene, Mary, John, Marley. And that scene for me... embodies the quintessential beauty of the soap opera genre. You bond with these characters episode after episode... and when situations like these happen, it strikes you right in the heart.

That's amazing! Thank you!

Absolutely correct, Contessa.  The farewell to Doug was the last time for me -- and was the first time for years.

I remember being a little girl, and it seemed my Mom was crying at her soaps even more than once a week.  But soaps were more believable back then, and were mostly based on emotion, rather than strong plots.

What was Agnes Nixon's famous quote?  Something like -- "Make 'em think, make 'em cry, make 'em wait..."  ???

I imagine everyone here keeps up with Eddie Drueding's channel, but in case you don't, he has shared some clips from 1988 episodes he does not have copies of. I suppose this explains why I have never been able to find the scene where Rachel ices Liz out. I had all those on tape but had to get rid of them several years ago. I hope they show up someday.

Sadly, this also means if you haven't seen this period closely you will not realize just how odd and spread thin the show was becoming by the last month of the strike. On the positive side, that means you are spared a lot of the terrifying Chris.

I love the Thanksgiving montage in this second set of clips, especially knowing it is our last Thanksgiving with Mac.

    • Hopefully they can expand some of the sets again. I watched some 04/05 episodes and forgot how much more grand the production used to feel. I wonder if YR will be staying put or going there or somewhere else as well.
    • DAYS posted the recipe! https://www.instagram.com/p/DKiMVZvuZje/ dayspeacock June 5, 2025 Tomorrow is National Donut Day! Here’s Alice Horton’s famous recipe! #NationalDonutDay #Donuts #Recipe #DOOL #Days #Daysofourlives #TBT Ingredients: 2 eggs 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of milk 5 tablespoons melted shortening 1-teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring 4 teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 stick butter, melted Cinnamon Sugar In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly. Stir in milk, shortening and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the wet ingredients, mixing well. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes to one hour for easier handling. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spray baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray. Roll out or pat the dough on a lightly floured board to a half inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter. Place the doughnuts and holes on the baking sheet, one inch apart. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush each doughnut and doughnut holes with melted butter and roll in Cinnamon Sugar to coat all sides. Makes about 36 doughnuts. Cinnamon Sugar: 1 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, blending well.
    • "Jordan and Robert have the best brother chemistry. " They certainly did!  And that chemistry worked no matter who served as the protagonist in a given scene or story.  A shame that a full-blown story was never developed for those two.  Wouldn't have needed to be adversarial, either.  Maybe a serious, unexpected, long-term outside threat, business or personal, to one of the brothers with the other coming to his aid.
    • Meant to come back to this!

I was able to find most of them. I am not sure if you did 1974-1977 but I did not find it in the 70s thread. This is an amazing resource for EVERY soap.  1973 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/78/#comments 1973 more research https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/80/#comments 1973 Update https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/82/#comments 1978 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/135/#comments 1979-1988 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/115/#comments 1989  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/122/#comment-1876530 1990-1999  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/11/#comments 2000-2004  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/58/#comments
    • Mrs. H used the donuts to distract from the expensive jewels that she hid in the walls of her kitchen.  Now, it all makes sense...

I thought a smart cookie like Caroline Brady would've had the chance to hide a bauble of her own from her dalliance with Victor.
