I guess I'd go with undecided I suppose. I am liking the presence Jamie Luner is having.... however I just don't quite see her as Liza. Its only been two days though..... a little early to formulate a true opinion. Lets see how she makes out with the big boys (Canary, Knight, Irizarry, Williams and Morgan)

I noticed the way she talked, for sure. She claims to not have watched any Marcy Walker tapes..... but the tone of her voice, it seemed to be channeling Marcy in a HUGE way. As much as people were up in arms over the whole age thing.... I didn't think it was glaringly obvious. She looked considerably older than Jake (even though Jamie is 3 years younger than Ricky). Jamie has a very mature look to her.... other than being friends with Pratt, I am sure that was part of the reason she landed the role.

Liza in reality is only about 5 or 6 years older than Jamie Luner. That whole teen set from the early 80's was born in the mid 60's.

Jesse's "tombstone" listed his birth year as 1964.

I noticed the voice as well. The black clothing is another key point there. I kinda like her so far, but it depends on her chemistry with Adam and Tad and the others.

The only thing I'm not fully sold on is her overall look. I just expect her to look a tad bit older. Maybe it's because when I hear her voice, I think of Marcy a little.

Nothing about her reminds me of Liza. That her entrance into town was having her panties pulled down by a man she barely knows tells me we're not supposed to care about Liza's history or personality, so I'm trying not to care, and I'm trying to just see her as Jamie Luner.

Seeing her only as Jamie Luniza, I think she's decent. I would like her more if they kept her away from the thug Zach and focused on her personality, not her status as someone's piece.

I do definitely wonder how far they will take the Liza/Zach thing.... I almost want it to progress just to see Liza take the shrew down a few notches. The look on Kendall's face today when Zach told her there was lipstick on his neck from the woman he just had sex with.... was PRICELESS

Kendall vs. Luner's Liza..... NO CONTEST

I didnt notice anythign in her voice. Thats how Jamie talks. Go watch her as Lexie on Melrose Place. Thats who I saw here

I dont think she ever did. She was there to help the girls start it up bc her sister Mia was invested in it, but I dont think she owned a part of it

Ok - I didn't say anything in the AMC daily thread bc I thought I was just crazy and trying to hear Marcy in Jamie's voice - but I TOTALLY thought the same thing about the voice. I was watching and then thought "wait, does she sound like Marcy a bit?". So I turned my head and listened to voice only and I thought "wow, this sounds a bit like Liza!". Its too bad she doesn't really look like Liza.

But I'm really enjoying Jamie Luner and think she's a great addition. I can't wait to see her up against Adam, Tad, David, Angie, Jesse, Krystal....this could be great.

    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
