Yes, starting with those beautiful scenes when Kay and Nikki reunite, later when Victor realizes in a matter of a few seconds that Kay is alive, and now with them helping out Kay. It's so wonderful. :) It always hurts when you don't have your friends at your side, but once you do it's all much better.

I love how Kay's storyline ties in with the Abbotts being out of Jabot, with Kevin's storyline and a bit with Billy's. It's all nicely connected.

Did Jeanne Cooper actually use the word "bullshit" in yesterday's (US) episode?

I had to rewind, and there it was. Kay said to Nikki: "I thought you believed that I was Katherine Chancellahhhh. Believe me, Katherine knowsh you shoooo well that she would never, ever shwallow that bullshit."

Yesterday was all about DENIAL, and I don't mean a river in Africa. Cane. Kay (about Nikki & Victor's everlasting love. All I see is derision). Jack (about Sharon). Chloe. All in major denial.

The fact that Melody didn't get even nominated for last year was shocking, and now it wouldn't surprise me if Jeanne doesn't get it.

The transcript says "Mm. I thought you believed I was katherine chancellor. Believe me, katherine knows you so well that she would never, ever swallow that foolishness."

I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this episode. After GH's horrific "if Maxie had died" episode, I was prepared for the worse, but this was well done in comparison. It had a nice balance between the stories and Marge's narration. I just about fell out when Marge talked about Nick, Phyllis, Jack and Sharon being driven by their passions more than anyone she ever met in a trailer park. These are the most dysfunction characters on the soaps and I love it. I loved Murphy's proposal and the dancing at the end. It was one of the most romantic and sweet scenes that I have seen on the soaps in a while.

I have a solution to everything. Cane is a master fraud and arranged years ago for Jill and Kay to be revealed as mother and daughter. Then he and his henchmen captured Katherine long enough to hypnotize her into thinking she gave away Jill's real son Phillip. When he came to town, he planted some pieces for Amber to make the connection and there you have it, Cane is the Chancellor heir. His accomplice who works in the lab fixed the results for Kay and Jill and again for Cane and Jill. When it is all revealed, Cane goes to Jail, never to be heard from again. Then the show can bring on the real Chancellor heir, Little Phillip, now a grown man, back from the middle east with serious trauma and wounds that need to be healed with the help of a supportive young vixen.

I thought the exact same thing. Although, I think Sharon's going to get kidnapped and they will all think she's either run away or committed suicide. They certainly love the kidnapping and adultery story lines these days. What I would like to see instead is a suicide attempt that winds up leaving Sharon with permanent brain damage, not that she has much brain to damage. Would Nick volunteer to feed her and change her diapers?

Ohhh, I like that plan! I actually like that whole playout for Cane--works for me.

And I think I want a Murphy of my own. That was just one of the best proposals on soaps in a damn long time. And I'm impressed Y&R has managed to work in a diner without making it a big joke in the long run, and creating characters that fit into the Y&R canvas.

    • In 1986, the writers had Zane shot twice in March and August when he died.  It’s like they didn’t know what to do with the character after they married him to Felicia.
    • Totally feel the same. Stacy’s fine, but this version of Kristen just exists for Brady’s storyline. No flashbacks, no real layers. Eileen always brought that extra spark - and her chemistry with Drake back in the day? So good. Definitely feels like a missed opportunity. Can you imagine Eileen’s Kristen walking in, all shaky, and just hugging Marlena? Both of them crying - like actual, messy, earned tears? That would’ve hit so much harder. Pure soap gold.
    • Xanthe, evidence of the Michigan setting could be found in the scenes when Rachel is on the run for shooting Mitch, which was in late 1980/early 1981. I remember a scene where they showed Bay City on a map of Michigan.
    • Leading to a knockdown, drag out brawl in the Brady Pub There’s so much fanfiction running through my mind right now

    • Another great episode. I was loving how everyone had someone to seek comfort in as they absorbed the news about John’s death, particularly Johnny/Chanel and Paul/ Andrew

Seriously, Janel has become one of my favorite couples lately. Chanel has been such a steady hand in Johnny’s life and I’m looking forward to seeing how they’re there for each other in the aftermath of John’s death.  But I am also looking forward to seeing the next conflict for them lol especially since EJ’s shooting is still dangling out there and that Johnny is gonna start working at Titan.  Paul and Andrew were sweet too. I love how Andrew comforted him. Idk if I’d be able to get married so quickly if I was in Paul’s shoes, but I do agree with the fact that it is what John would’ve wanted. I enjoyed their scenes with Will and Carrie too, even though Will and Andrew acted like they weren’t cousins. Hopefully, we’ll get more scenes of them coming up. But yeah, I will never not believe that a Will/Sonny/Paul/Andrew quad is a massive missed opportunity. There are so many story possibilities for the four of them, especially now. But again, if we can’t get them all full time, I’m fine with each couple getting a happily ever after. Away from Salem and safe from Leo. Btw, Colton is really tall And, unfortunately it looks like Sami won’t be making it to John’s memorial and that really sucks. Friggin Sydney lol I was also loving Bo’s reunion with his family. They work so well together as a family and I couldn’t be happier that we’re finally getting moments like this. The three of them filling Bo in on what’s been going in Salem for all these years was nice but also a little sad, especially after Bo found out about Victor and Doug. But I wonder if Bo’s going to have any scenes with his new brother, Xander. Or how he’s gonna react to finding out about John. And, I guess it was necessary for Bo to meet Ciara’s little serial killers too.

    • I was thinking that voice sounded a lot like June. If Barbara left behind a baby she could be her daughter or granddaughter (the way ages work on this show I have no idea how old June should be).
