Chilly rules and Lily can finally have her soulmate back!!

That baby they have as Cordy is really cute and nice and small, not a 3 month old like they usually get.

Dmarex, is your pic a spoiler for Heather's future as a bag lady?

Cane is not Lily's soulmate...uhh the horror of that thought.

The fact that they're doing this so fast is what makes me certain that Cane and Lily won't last at all. Especially with him trying to force Chloe's baby onto her. That's absolutely disgusting and apalling in my opinion. Lily lost a child of her own already. Why in the world would she want to raise the child of a woman she hates. It makes no sense at all unless she's out for revenge and that's not a part of Lily's personality. At least what we've seen of it so far.

Above and beyond any issues people might have with Vail, there are two major liabilities for the character. (1) She is Paul's daughter We sure know how much the writers want to invest in the Williams clan; (2) The law-and-order DA role (outside of Christine) has ALWAYS been a loser on this show. Think how many times Glenn Richards brought the wrong person to trial...always to lose in the end.

I hated Glenn. But because he was only ever on for short stints, he was tolerable.

Now Vail is in that thankless role...but it is hard to make her a sympathetic character with a romantc life and family if she is constantly used as Y&R's DA...who, for 35 years, has been the "bad false accuser". Truly thankless.

The ONLY hope for Vail and Heather is if she realizes she *likes* the bad-boy side of Adam, she LIKES being a Princeton-Yale competitor, and she returns to the corporate world. She was fine at Jabot under Nikki.

Then, they should bring Glenn Richards back...we can continue hate him.

===

Tangential, but I'm liking "Rafe", Billy's bud and the new lawyer in town. Since he went to school with Billy, I don't know why they didn't just make him a recast Raul, and tell us Raul went off to become a lawyer. Even if they don't want to invest in "Rafe" with a contract, it would have given the character a bit more resonance in town...especially if Mac ever returns.

ETA: corrected Heather's corporate home to "Jabot". Thanks dmarex.

Just a minor correction, she was at Jabot under Nikki.

It's true. Overall, anyone that stands up against Victor is a loser.

Maybe Brendan Burns (Glenn) left just because he was tired of playing a loser all the time.

Amen! Lane is just Lame! Lily, bless her heart she is trying to recapture what she thought she had with Cane before Kate Valentine ruined it. Contrary to poplar belief in this instance, you can not go home again. No Lily, its not just a "wrinkle in time" its a rip that can't be sewn up. Lily has become ABC, all about Cane. She can't survive being in a relationship, much less a marriage with his man. On the other hand, did you listen to Billy's conversation with his sister and Victor? Very interesting and foreshadowing. Billy and Lily aren't through with each other yet.

    • Dina was Jack, Ashley and Tracy's mom on Y&R.  Joanna was Lauren Fenmore's mother, played by Susan Seaworth-Hayes.
    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
    • I'm excited for us to get back to a full weeks worth of episodes and also us beginning to move into the episodes filmed once the show premiered. We're already starting to see changes in the lighting and the way certain characters are styled. Of course we know this week we have our first recast as well. After the big Eva reveal, I hope the show continues to move into a positive direction and that we see them starting to fix some of the things we've all had issues with.
