I love both versions of the white openings that were posted, so BOO to you, juniorz (I still :wub: you, though!). The only thing that I would change is that I'd do away with the white-washing (gasp, that word!) of the background and just have it be a solid background, so that it's clearer to see what the footage in the back is. Yes, even the horses.

70s ATWT, to me, epitomizes what it means for a soap to be an event every single day. The music is just epic.

Don't think they've changed AJ's shot since she got there, which was Jan 05.

Nope. They've only ever changed Taylor, Jackie, Felicia and Amber's shots. Rick needs a new one, like... yesterday.

Actually, I just tried to go back and look and it appears they've changed her quite a few times.

She's had three: the one with the god-awful wig, the one with the short hair and the current one.

I like it too, but it's not as good as this version IMO.

AMC does need to update it's opening, WHY is Babe still in the opening? She's been six feet under since October

I agree that they need to update the character shots for Zach, Kendall, Ryan, Annie and a few others

I love all the versions of the Ryan's Hope openings. I think the one from the early 80's is my favourite. The theme and the opening itself are so fitting for the show.

I love all the versions of the Ryan's Hope openings. I think the one from the early 80's is my favourite. The theme and the opening itself are so fitting for the show.

There's something about this opening I never really liked. I think it's because it reminded me of an afterschool special and not a soap.

I liked the original RH opening, but then they had their own version of what doomed AW's last opening. So many actors left and they had to cut them out of the opening. Finally they just showed Maeve and Johnny with little John and kept that opening for years. That last opening RH had drove me crazy with those awful fake bird sounds in the background.

I've never been able to get the Loving theme song out of my head.

I also like this opening for Another Life. I think it sort of sums up all elements of a soap, ending with the central theme of that show (besides big hair), the Bible.

And I love the 80s theme for ATWT. I listened to that theme during my formative soap years and it brings back so many memories.

I love the way Grant Aleksander seems to be nodding/dancing to the theme music in the opening. :lol:

He is so hot in that pic. Gosh how I miss Johnny Bauer(James M. Goodwin). Carl T. Evans was a cutie back then. :lol:

Here is probably ATWT best opening. My favorite will always be on and on. They said this one was abandoned because it cost too much. It is a shame.

DAYS: December 2025 Discussion Thread

Today was a bit of a mixed bag.
It wasn't exactly boring, but everything just felt so low energy. Playing a lot of things like a big joke didn't help much either. Days does not need comic relief as much as some people think it does.
And yeah, Susan just needs to be killed off. I'm tired of her.
Everything surrounding Alex and Stephanie was ok, but it reeked of no budget. Alex and Stephanie can't come into contact with anybody due to potential exposure, but they evacuated to a public town square and then had a nice long conversation with Steve and Kayla? OK 😂😂😂
Maybe this would have been better if it had played out for a little longer. But I'm interested in seeing this all play out, even though I think they're missing the mark by not having Jeremy and his feud with Alex play a bigger part in all of this.
As for the Dimeras in the crypt, I felt the same way about those scenes today like I did on Friday: I'm not that big a fan of the storyline as a whole but I did enjoy Chad and EJ's scenes together. I like the way they went from EJ comforting Chad over the custody suit to Chad accusing EJ of being responsible for kidnapping everyone. It's an interesting dynamic between the two of them that I wouldn't mind playing into future storylines.
I wouldn't mind them returning to this style at all. All the elements are there for Days to return to this in 2026, especially with so many characters being weaved into the Dimera stuff.
Chris Whitesell was co-head writer during both of those years. Days should try to lure him back.

He owed Tracy this for putting his ex-wives together and sending him to jail in California. The Q's choose against reporting Martin to the police. They leave him to a higher power... 11/4/2025 -- got money for a house in Duke's County. Tracy throws her out and the Q's leave with her 11/6/2025 -- goes to the mansion to speak with Tracy. Tracy half-asses an apology until Ronnie tells her to "Put a sock in it, Tracy" Tracy needs her to repeat it. Monica always said that phrase. Ronnie says they always said it to one another as kids. Calls Alexis, Jason and Lulu in. 11/21/2025 -- comes across Laura and her flat tire at mile marker 8 and offers to help. Sonny arrives and Nathan is called away. Sonny calls Jason after Nathan leaves. 11/24/2025 -- Justine quizzes Nathan about whether Dalton came in for questions. Nathan says no, and the two await a CSI report to prove Rocco's innocence. 11/25/2025 -- goes to Juvie and removes Rocco back to the precinct. When ADA Turner confronts him about removing Rocco, Nathan asks her if she wanted to be known for prosecuting kids that get attacked in Juvie. She makes arrangements to arraign Rocco and have him sent home. 11/26/2025 -- Happy to hear Rocco was released. Goes through the other potential suspects with Dante. 12/1/2025 -- shows up briefly at Wallow and Drew's wedding, but leaves to bring Curtis in for questioning. 12/2/2025 -- discusses the night of the shooting with Curtis and his lack of alibi. 12/3/2025 -- continues to question Curtis 12/8/2025 -- reports the escaped prisoner to Dante -- It's Valentin. Dante assigns him to protect Lulu and the kids. 12/9/2025 -- Dante appreciates his friend keeping an eye on Charlotte and Lulu. 12/10/2025 -- finds Sellina Wu on Curtis' Savoy tapes. Nathan and Justine question him about the ;lie in his statement 12/11/2025 -- searches Curtis' office with a warrant finds a mislabeled video from surveillance from the night of Drews shooting. 12/12/2025 -- after seeing the incriminating footage of Willow; Nathan calls Nina in to tell her the news.

@Vee @DRW50 @Broderick I purchased the 2012 e-edition of Peter M. Bracke's book Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th last October. Alas, it doesn't really have Kimberly Beck clear the air about her 1983 departure from Capitol. The e-edition quotes Ms. Beck as saying, "By the time of [Friday the 13th:] The Final Chapter, I had just left a soap opera called Capitol that I had been on for two years." In the e-edition, she doesn't say that she was "fired" or "let go" from Capitol. However, she is quoted as saying the following:
"You don't do porn or anything like that, but you do what you have to do to sustain the lifestyle that you've created. For me, I owned a home, and I had just divorced a really wealthy man and took nothing. I was struggling just to support myself and retain my dignity. It wasn't like I could be picky. And I had to fight to get that part. I had to go in and read a million times. And that, to me, is respectable."

Even considering what is said in this article as well as this other article, I can't say that Kimberly Beck was legally fired from Capitol in 1983. Should Ms. Beck have been ineligible for unemployment benefits just because the powers that be didn't think she was well suited to play a revised version of the Julie Clegg character?
In any case, I can't say it doesn't bother me that Ms. Beck didn't appear in too much of note after Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter cleaned up at the box office. Yes, she did appear on L.A. Law in 1987, but it just for one episode. Was Ms. Beck offered roles on any daytime soap operas after she left Capitol in 1983? Peter Barton, one of her castmates in The Final Chapter, did appear as Dr. Scott Grainger on The Young and the Restless from 1988 to 1993. (Kimberly Beck has admitted to briefly dating Peter Barton, but I can't independently verify IMDb's claim that they shared an apartment during the early '80s.)
