I'm just finished watching today's show and I'm absolutely loving this Cane/Chloe/Lily/Billy drama! Christel Khalil is actually doing a great job, and Liz Hendrickson plays such an awesome vixen. I love the way they have her dressed in that black coat and the black hat, as if she's some sort of murderous black widow, LoL. Love it!

Sharon looked like she was ready to spit fire at Nick when she told him "Happy Valentine's Day." The guy makes me sick, he's pretty much the biggest slut ever. He cheats on his wife by hopping into bed with Sharon, then expects her to re-arrange her career in order to accomodate his level of comfort? I call B.S.! I hope she sues him for sexual harassment! Mhmm, and with her going a little crazy, I'd say that's not altogether out of the realm of possibility.

Can Gloria die already? That would be great.

I heard about the surprising DNA results yesterday (Katherine and Jill are not mother/daughter) but I can't help wondering if the test was somehow tampered with. In the current story, I'd say it's rather likely, but I hope they're not pulling the whole bait-and-switch trick with us only to have Katherine and Jill be related after all. That would be disappointing. If they're not mother and daughter, leave them that way. If in the end they are mother and daughter, they should be left that way from the start. You don't want the viewers to feel like they're being overly duped at every turn, because that causes mistrust of the writers -- the same problem plaguing so many other soaps. Y&R is and should be better than that. So, we'll see where it all goes...

Also, we never actually saw Jill getting the DNA results. She ended up going from the office to the coffee house without viewers actually seeing the entire phonecall. Is it possible that the DNA results proved Katherine is who she says she is, but Jill is still in denial? Maybe? LoL

LoL @ Sharon's Butterfingers! She's such a klepto, and it's so random and hysterical to me -- even in context! What was it she took today, anyway? It looked like some sort of fancy paperweight.

Good show today.

I will be so very disappointed if the DNA reversal is reversed again. Kay and Jill NEVER should have been made mother and daughter. Additionally, their respective biological mother and daughter, I hope, are dead and buried. This storyline needs to be about Kay and Jill, not anyone else and it should be about re establishing the feud.

Sharon the kleptomaniac is strangely riveting. Like, I want her to keep going and stealing bigger and better things...maybe almost get caught, but get away with it and then get very embarrassingly caught in front of half the town. And I LIKE the character of Sharon, always have, but I want to see her fall apart into pieces of shattered glass.

I don't like Nick anymore, the guy is just d*cking around like a big douchebag.

Wasn't Rachel Kimsey fired..... because she sucked? LOL. She had no life as Mac. Its either Ash Bash or no one for me. If anything Nina should be the one they should bring back.... yeah it kind of screws things with the whole Cane thing, but I don't care. Or just bring Nina back short term to be the DNA match.

I don't want Nina back. Phillip on the other hand could be an interesting addition to the show.

But they can use Brock or Mac, or better yet, Katherine's own DNA (toothbrushes, hair brushes, stamps and envelopes all work) to prove she's the real deal. Esther refused to let Jill throw her stuff out.

Don't worry, that history has been destroyed and she really married a NOBODY!!

Chloe and Billy are so awesome together on Monday. I just love their fiestyness. They better not kill her off because she's a scene stealer.

And the sets, there were almost too many to count. It adds so much to the show when there are 7+ different sets used in an episode.

Is Emily O'Brien pregnant? There is one full body shot where she looks 5-6 months along.

I really don't see anything special between Billy and Chloe to be honest but that stems more from the fact that EH's character is just not that nice. I know she's supposed to be that bad girl but there's nothing about her except for her fashionista skills that makes her more beautiful or interesting to me as a guy over Lily.

I think it's more a credit to the guy who's playing Billy. He just oozes charm and charisma. Every scene he's in you can't help but watch him and see how he interacts with those around him. Just an awesome casting job on Y&R's part.

I'm so crushed that the DNA test didn't turn out positive. I hate that their undoing the whole Kay and Jill are mother and daughter thing. It's just pointless in my case. They can still be enemies and be related.

Sharon Case looked absolutely beautiful today. However Sharon Abbot was a hot mess of nerves. Just watching her made me laugh out loud. I'm sure SC is having fun with this stuff.

    • They’ve been really nailing the fall out super well and your whole post really highlights some of the great parts and ramifications we’re seeing.
    • I like that this episode highlighted the ramifications of what Eva and her rotten mama did. They were so focused on Ted and Nicole, not even realizing that other people would be affected. Eva thought nothing of what she did to Mona bc she was sure no on would hold anything against her but Mona is right in that they ruined her reputation with the Duprees. They dont blame her but they will likely never trust her judgement again. She has to walk by them feeling the guilt and shame that she'll never live down bc she unknowingly played a role in the hell that was unleashed. Not to mention the trauma and trust issues she no has bc she genuinely viewed Leslie as a friend   And poor Laura nearly died when she had that car accident and then had a heart attack and infection bc she was poisond. She's been recuperating for 3 months. She missed her trip to Hawaii and no idea what impact this has done on her relationship and her own plans but no on was thinking about that.   Eva and Leslie need to be made to feel like ish bc this was bigger than just Ted and Nicole

    • Understand your point.  But I usually see Reginald's mustache twirling villainy as ultra campy bordering on comedic (albeit unsuccessfully).  And upon Reginald's exit, most of the overt camp/comedy seemed to cease. And although I'm aware camp and comedy are not exactly the same thing, I tend to throw them together anyway -- especially when discussing soaps.  You are correct, Mary was not played for laughs.  When I used to term "let's play everything for laughs" I didn't mean literally everything or every character was comedic. But TPTB put so much effort into comedy, it did tend to eat the show for a few years (again not literally). I'm just expressing my perspective on the topic, and lots of folks probably disagree.  That's cool. People who like comedy on soaps tend to defend it, and folks who don't like comedy (or think it want too far) tend to criticize it.  Whichever side of the fence one is on, it sure didn't help the ratings on AW.
    • Nope, it was not just you, I had the same issues. Most either disagreed with me, or just ignored my comments. But, I most definitely would have liked for them to take another route, even to add sheer variety in the storytelling. It is what it is, the story is a hit with the fans...
    • You may be a casual watcher, but you got SO much right.
    • I've been eagerly awaiting Kate's first episode under the new writers, and I wasn't disappointed. I started reminiscing about all of Kate's misdeeds when she said how good of a liar she was and how she saw right through Roman's lying. I really buy this matured, but still wise Kate in 2025, and the fact that you know under the right circumstances, the more ruthless side is always there, under the surface. Hopefully, with Roman about to confess, we get the full truth about just what the hell happened with Johnny the night EJ was shot, then all the major suspects will be eliminated, just for the writers to throw in that wrench that's waiting for it's time to shine. Everytime Brady thaws even a little bit towards Kristen I immediately get concerned. I was entertained by their fight, and it was smart to mention Kirsten having no friends, let alone positive female relationships except for Lani in regards to why Rachel is such a loser. As a viewer, do you think Stacy Haiduk as Kristen was at all thinking about her former friendships with Jennifer and Billie in that moment? I wonder if she's even aware that they were, or who Billie even is. Anyway, I do wish Kristen could have also thrown in Brady's face that he's literally the biggest slut in Salem. Rachel seeing and possibly hearing about him going from woman to woman would also negatively affect Rachel's negative ideals about women, and possibly her own self-hatred. I thought Doug's favourite class being English lit was a good through line from how impressed he was with grandpa Doug's poetry book to Julie. Hearing he dropped out because no one at home cared just made me yearn for more information about Charles LeClair as a father and person. Maybe it was this time that Robert LeClair was dying so Charles was distracted and it all fell apart after that? Alex with Kristen today is the most interesting I've seen him written. He was smarmy and cold and for a quick second looked like he was enjoying playing with Kristen clearly throwing herself at him, but when she dropped her facade he became merciful, but still unwilling to budge. He would have fit in well in the more complex 70s era as a cad with a heart underneath his bravado. However, and I can't stress this enough, I absolutely despise whenever he calls Philip, 'Phil.' It just itches my brain in all the wrong ways.
