Did you notice how in a weird sort of way, they are trying to make us hate Marty and feel sorry for Todd. I realize that Marty hates Todd for what he did to her (and rightfully so), but it seems like Marty is the bad guy now and Todd is just pitiful.

the only thing they've accomplished is that IM back to hating Marty. Still hate Todd and want them both off the screen

Hey guys someone at goldderby is saying that Susan Haskell submitted herself in the Lead Actress category for the emmys. If true that is kind of cool. And also, they are saying that Robin Strasser did not sunmit herself at all... Don't know if any of this is true-

Possibly they're trying to show a different side of the conflict? It's obvious that Todd is screwed up in the head and needs help like nobody's business, but at the same time, just because of the horrible things he has done, that doesn't mean he's immune from being handed his ass 24/7. That takes a toll, and it's obvious how it's affected Todd.

I think that it's possible that they're not trying to make the audience side with one over the other. The truth of the matter is, they both need help and healing.

Possibly. Marty is turning into a bitch, while Todd is so messed up he's acting like a little kid. He is certainly Victor Lord's son.

But I get what you're saying. And you're right.

I don't think they're trying to make us hate Marty, but I do think the version of Marty that was written during Christina Chambers' tenure was... uninspiring?... to Carlivati/Valentini, and they are using this return/rape/love story as a catalyst to make Marty more layered, less "martyred" and more fun to write. Unpredictable, complex. Reopen the wound. They're doing a damn good job of it, too!

I'm loving it, and I'm transfixed by all the scenes. I still don't want them together, but at least both Marty and Todd are more "exposed", with Todd openly admitting a love for Marty, whereas in the past he always claimed to hate her so. The question is, by what point will Todd have really "paid" for his actions? Is there a point? Does he need to die? I'm curious. And I don't know my own answer for that yet.

Did MPL actually write this? I enjoyed it. F.Y.I, in case you didnt know, MPL made a cameo yesterday on the show. I believe her scene was with David Vickers... :)

I wish Marty would just go away already. I get that Marty's mad but ugh just go away and deal with it off screen somewhere and take your dull son with you. UGH. John: "It's the right thing to do." This coming from a man who constantly breaks the law whenever he wants... Whatever. I wish they'd both go away forever.

Loved Dorian and Alex scenes.

If so I think she just shot herself in the foot. JMO.

The dialogue is much sharper suddenly. Don't know who gets the credit. There were lots of fun lines.

Tea: Something big just hit the water!

Blair: It was probably a shark. You know they sense when their own kind are near.

Natalie: I just want you to do something that makes you feel good about yourself

Jared: You mean besides you?

And it doesn't matter how many times she says it, Dorian saying "Trust me" always draws a laugh.

Am I the only one the preferred CC version of Marty? I mean not the actress, but how the character was written. I mean she had depth and she put Cole first before everything eles. It was so refreshing to see a character like that. I loved the relationship between John and Marty. They both have so much in common and I loved seeing John and Cole interact. I loved that John opened up with Marty and she did the same with him. I loved how he protected her without being overbaring. I loved how CC treated Todd like is was an insect not worth stepping on. I loved that she was strong and sassy with out being too hard. I miss how Marty was written. There was so much more intrigue to her character back then. This current version on Marty is pathetic. I think TPTB are confussing layers with stupidity!!! That doesn't make a character interesting. IMPO Marty the party girl was trashing 15 years ago and now it is just sad and FF material!!!

Todd is completely lost. There is not one aspect of Todd I recongnize anymore. He is boring and FF material.

I loved John jumping in to save Todd- John should never have left the force. IMPO being a cop is John's first love and eveything else comes second- that is the way I like him.

David is priceless!!! "You need my help, you are old"!!!

Blair/ Tea- sooo good!!! Now that was interesting and dramatic.

Sigh- Blair giving Todd mouth- to -mouth--- ok I am a Todd and Blair sucker!!! Too bad this isn't Todd anymore.

Dorian and Alex- just pure gold!!!!!

Christina Chambers LMAO was AWFUL as Marty. She totally was so miscast and did not mesh at all. No chemistry with anyone and just was awful. Susan Haskell is Marty and her work during the climax of the Tarty storyline was fabulous even though not a fan of the storyline. OLTL wisely dumped Chambers and waited until Haskell was ready to make a return.

I will say I absolutely love Florencia/Kassie as rivals, they have a ton of chemistry in the rival category.

True enough, but I don't consider the role that CC was playing to be Marty. Sure, the script had the name Marty Saybrooke, and the actress was hired to play a character named Marty Saybrooke, but onscreen, the character that CC played could have been named Jane, or Sally or Cindy - there was no character there - just lines from a script.

It makes sense that Marty is not putting Cole first right now - she does not know him! Or herself for that matter. It makes total sense that she is consumed by revenge against Todd, because her time with Todd and what he did to her is all she knows. Life began for Marty 6 months ago.

Okay, you lost me Jay. Who's MPL? And which David scene did she appear in (was she the old woman David was fighting with)?
