December 2, 200916 yr Author Administrator Thom Racina(still connected via Tony and Suckass-Morona) Rex Best(even though he's at B&B ) Lyndsey Dufour/Marina Alburger(probably still have friends at Y&R, probably kissed Maria's ass and renounced Lethal. Knowing how crazy incestuous this business is, they probably got another shot.) Nope. Has Ryan Quan only written episodes for DAYS or did he also do a script for Y&R last year? Ryan never worked for Y&R. He was some sort of assistant at Passions before joining DAYS. Which scriptwriters did Hogan work with on ATWT that may have also worked for Y&R? The writer has no connection to Hogan. The "was a BIG part" thing could only mean Sylph's favourites - Alden and Smith. The "second connection" is not to Smith or Alden. This person worked for Y&R previously, but doing what? "Helping" LOL
December 2, 200916 yr Member This is probably unlikely too, but... Anne Schoettle? She's David Shaugnessy's wife, was briefly a consultant for Y&R in 1994 (which I'm sure was because of David), and she worked briefly for PC in 2000, so she must know Barbara Bloom.

December 2, 200916 yr Member Oh, and her other "brief" experience in the Bell universe was when she was a SW for B&B from 2002 to 2003.
December 2, 200916 yr Member We may have a winner! Y&R could use her husband more than they can use her... I was reading SOD's Best Soap writeup for Y&R from 2003 where they praised David for breathing "new life" into the show. Smith really fell off when David left and he had to be both HW and the main EP. Edited December 2, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner

And I was just checking the credits, Anne was a consultant in 1992, not 1994 - my mistake in her profile. Don't know why Y&R needed another SW now since they went months without any changes. But I noticed that Freiwald/Schreiber haven't been writing much lately. Haven't heard of any other changes yet.
December 2, 200916 yr Member Yay for me! LOL I'm not necessarily opposed to Anne, but Y&R is such a mess right now and I find the general day to day writing and dialogue to be the weakest on this show that its ever been. I think Milstein is weak script editor too. Who could Frons be going after then? Maybe Hogan Sheffer. LOL But I were Frons I'd try to steal Chris Whitesell away from Gary Tomlin. Take Gary's go-to-guy away from him and try to rock DAYS' boat a bit. God, as much as I want Sheffer away from Y&R, AMC doesn't deserve yet another recycled writer the reeks the same type of havoc from show to show, which is what they'll get when Sheffer's recycled bag of old tricks wears thin in a short amount of time. Sheffer's proved to me that he wasn't meant for serial writing. His latter years at ATWT, DAYS, and now Y&R reaffirm this to me. I'm sure Whitesell is forever in debt to Tomlin, it would be difficult to seperate them at this point, but money always talks. LOL
December 2, 200916 yr Member I think Toups might be onto something. Obviously, either he'll get fired or seek to be released from his contract if ABC makes an offer. And then we're gonna do great in 2010!

December 2, 200916 yr Member It makes me believe she's only back for the transition, and Frons wants someone else there officially. If not, I don't understand why they can't officially name her as Pratt's replacement. If LB doesn't take over as HW after the interim, I truly shudder to think of who Frons might hire-McT again?
December 2, 200916 yr Member If it's Sheffer you're talking about, I'd take that in a second... anything to get him away from Y&R. Sheffer is definitely a huge part of what's wrong with Y&R (many of the common themes on Y&R right now were apparent in his past shows), but nothing is ever going change with Maria's inexperience and Sheffer's craptastic wannabe primetime writing sensibility also guiding the creative path of this show. I can accept that we might be stuck with Maria, but the least she can do is better a better f.ucking Co-Head Writer and a better Co-EP than Paul Rauch. A better and smaller staff of writers would also be nice. Someone who knows what they're doing should do the hiring and firing on this writing team. Edited December 2, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner

But you hate Sheffer and Y&R is one of your shows, and you're not that much of an AMC fan. You should want Frons to steal Sheffer away. LOL I'm sure Whitesell is forever in debt to Tomlin, it would be difficult to seperate them at this point, but money always talks. LOL If I'm Frons, I'm thinking: Okay, my competitor is kicking my ass and DAYS is mostly up against AMC. DAYS has been going steady for the past year now, so what I can do to try and rock their boat. I'll tell Chris to do whatever he did at DAYS to get AMC's ratings up. If I'm Whitesell, I'm thinking: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..........and I get credit as sole Head Writer, instead of doing the most work and being "under" Dena Higley who does crap. It would also being a great challenge to save another soap. Also if I ever get fired from AMC and if Gary's still at DAYS, I know I will always have a job there. I think Toups might be onto something. Obviously, either he'll get fired or seek to be released from his contract if ABC makes an offer. And then we're gonna do great in 2010! Yeah, Sheffer joining AMC as HW would be so great for this thread in 2010 in terms of writer transactions.
