I dont like the Zbox plot either. In this bad economy (which has been acknowledged on the show), sorry but Shane is just going to have to do without. I get where Rex is coming from but broke people dont go spending hundreds of dollars on some game system. We're in a recession. Tough luck

That's the thing that I'm having such a tough time with in terms of the Marty/Todd situation, the insertion of jealousy and other conventional relationship entanglements. What happened here wasn't a lovers spat, Todd committed very serious crimes against Marty again and we need to see her fighting him and Tea as a crusade for justice and dignity, not something spawned out of sexual jealousy or her running from whatever feelings she's supposed to have for him.

I'm hoping that the scenes of Todd with Margaret the other day where the beginning of a shift in direction where Todd really starts to understand what he did. I really liked seeing him respond to Margaret's very Todd-like come-ons with the exact same answers that Marty would give him now if he said those things to her (and he would if he was alone with her) and Margaret pointing that out. I hope they follow through on that as this case progresses.

Exactly. I get that Rex wants to swoop in and play hero but times are tough all over and he's not gonna do the kid any favors by pretending that they're immune. If Shane was five, I could understand it but he's old enough to get it even if he doesn't like it.

I can't get over how fabulous Dorian still is. I adored her magnificent diva-hood when I was ten and still do.

Thank God there are others who feel the same about the Z Box. I doubt people who are sitting at home because of this recession are enjoying watching rich folks buy a bunch of gifts, or squabbling over a petty gaming system. Sometimes I miss the middle class or true working family on soaps.

Just give Susan Haskell the Emmy for Supporting Actress right now! What an amazing performance once again. I can't get over how great these Nora/Tea and Marty/Tea scenes are. You have powerful actresses in a meaty storyline. It's just awesome to watch this kind of soap opera.

I hate the Z-Box thing too. It makes Rex look like an idiot who's trying to buy his son's love. He's broke and yet he's willing to pay up to $600 for a gaming system? Idiot!!

I hope so too, MTS. They've been the 2 best soaps this year. No other soaps come close.

I love both Jess Walton and Susan Haskell.

I think Susan's performances are above and beyond any actress this year.

And yes, very different performances. And in all fairness, Susan's emmy performances did not even begin until November sweeps while Jess's were consistently excellent all year.

I think based on tapes- Susan to me would win hands down. But Jess's understated emotional material is excellent stuff. Judith Chapman is just so one note and overblown I can't even take it.

I hear Ellen Dolan has some good stuff this year as well. I have never seen an episode of ATWT in my life so I have no clue.

I want Melody to get her due this year as lead Actress. That is my one hope. But you have Erika in Victors tomb and Kay and Marge and its a pretty cool race.

Susan Haskell should most definitely win for best supporting actress. And yes, Jess Walton's awesome too, but Judith Chapman's embarrassing to watch. She's SO cartoonish.

I wish they had a best guest star award. Florencia and Tuc could get nominated.

    • I still say this is Frank's way of saying goddbye to JJ, who brought nothing to the show and was a complete dud for his entire return. He's purposelY been given an awful exit. Is this all Jackson's fault? Most likely not, but I place most of the blame on him. Too many contract demands, too much working around his travel schedule, too many stories he refused to do. GH has WAY too many actors calling the shots and influencing story and hires. We've seen it hurt the show time and time again.
    • Yeah, like others have said, Paul took it home for me today. We'd be so lucky to have him back for good.
    • I really like the scenes between Dani and Andre today.  Regardless of where this goes or who they end up with.  For now I appreciate that they have honesty with one another.  There's deep truth and vulnerability.  More than before.

date: Tuesday, June 10 | Gregori J. Martin, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier Andre and Dani continue to use each other for their own personal reasons. I mean, good for them, but the people they truly want to be with are not each other. Anita wanting the temporary passes revoked? Oh, I know that made Sharon mad as Hell. MAD! Tracy said, "Shut up! I'm in charge now!" Bill playing around with child bride, via Ashley... that was kind of cute, but I also kind of wish it were true. Sharon, sweetie, your ugliness continues to shine bright like the ugliest of cubic zirconia. And Tracy, your vulnerability is beautiful; this reunion means so much to you, and it's genuine. That's what I want to see. So, with Bill's right side affected, then his stroke was on the left side of his brain; interesting. Very interesting, and while it's nice that he is making significant improvements, more can and will be done. Rehab, huh? Will it be at-home rehab or at a facility? That's what I would like to know. I appreciate Sharon [finally] letting that ugliness fade and her truth begin to come out. That's beautiful. Vernon continues to be wise with his years and his wisdom, and his continued connections with his grandchildren, especially discussing the past (summer of '69) with Uncle Cornelius, I love this. This is what I enjoy seeing. Dani is catching onto Chelsea's crush on Madison, and I think she approves. So, Shanice was a physical therapist to start? Quite interesting. Wait, so Anita is leaving town? Why do I suspect she's going to come home to some messes she'll have to clean up? Notes: I've loved the muted, neutral tones that Tamara Tunie (Anita) has been wearing throughout, but then we get moments like today where she wears this vibrant pop of colour, and I'm fully in love. Karla Mosley (Dani) continues to shine in her facial expressions when Marquita Goings' Hayley is talking nonsense. She embodies Dani from head to toe, eye roll and all. Tunie and Clifton Davis (Vernon) shine together; it's a natural, old-school kind of chemistry they share as a couple.
    • Maybe Vetsoapfan will chime in. He might know.
    • Yeah, I'm thinking that, too. It certainly would be one way to deflect from the embarrassment of being fired early in your contract.
    • I was hoping Dani/Andre would get caught in the most awkward way possible. lol.  Shanice is now a PT. Umm...okay. Glad they are keeping her in the mix.  Anita going to Chicago. Is this a way to have TT offscreen for some reason?
    • Andrea Evans was not on the show at this time.  A part of me does wonder if this type of story is just thrown in for juicy gossip and didn't really happen.
    • No, it couldn't have been her. She left early 1983 (with an actor who would become her husband, and still is, as far as I know). Other names from the era would be Shelly Burch (Delilah), Brynn Thayer (Jenny), and Andrea Evans (Tina). But I doubt any of these were powerful enough to push the eject button on another actress.
