I think the show has been on the high-budget end for a long time. I think that returning favorites like Davidson does not come cheap. I think there has been a cost-cutting goal forever...Heather Tom left because of it...obviously Jerry Douglas left because of it...and it will just be a rolling stone.

I don't know when the contract is up, but obviously Y&R has to brace itself for a future renegotiation with CBS, and they will want to pare down and get ready. (That's called planning, Ken Corday).

In addition, even as they have to plan to save money, they know Braeden will demand an increase. Therefore, they have to plan for his salary increase by cutting everyone else :).

Started watching Y&R this week and just in time! Oh have I waited so long to see Glo in those handcuffs. I too am interested to see how she pays, but oh man is this going to have an effect on the entire canvas. I love it!

What is with Heather constantly wanting to pin murder on Victor Newman? Has she got a complex or what.

I found the events surrounding Glo and Jeff this week really shocking.

Kudos to the writers: Jeff applying the face cream to himself -> my jaw dropped to the floor. Then, his evil play with Gloho in the hospitasl room... It was really morbid but I couldn't think of a righter person to derserve it.

Gloria played poor Miss Innocent far too long. Now it's payback time!
