And, somehow, Harrison Ford's name was dragged into this. (See Twitter.)

Just bananas.

When the 'merely wealthy' son of a senator takes great pains to carry water for the uber-wealthy. Add to this, the fact that it is also in direct conflict with the tax proposals of his own father gives a snapshot as to why the legislative changes needed to reform the corporate tax and the non-existent inheritance tax proposals are so difficult to make a reality.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe this strategy will be effective? Or will the calculus change now that this tactic is being used against the U.S.' long running affair with gun rights?

I don't think it will work because of the 2nd Amendment.  I'm all for it though!

Both abortion and gun rights are constitutional . The abortion rights through the 4th snd 14th amendments and gun rights through the 2nd amendment. It has been how the court has interpreted those amendments that has provided those rights. No where in the constitution does it say individual private citizens have the right to own a gun. No offense but I wish people would stop this nonsense about how abortion rights are not protected constitutionally. It’s like most  have no idea what Roe Vs Wade was about and how it gave women those rights.

Newsomes strategy is brilliant and is why gun rights organizations came out against the abortion vigilante law in Texas and sided with abortion rights advocates.

As we enter another anniversary of the horrendous school shooting of first graders at a school in Newtown CT, something has to be done. If it's considered a radical step, so be it. I don't know whether it will be successful, be we can just resign ourselves to the next school shooting.

Reading how the Tories could lose Shropshire to the (*looks closely*) Liberal Democrats, makes me wonder whether there are signs of life from that Party, or is it solely based on contempt for Johnson?

Oops, that's North Shropshire.

There won't be elections for another 2 years. Lots can change but if the Tories lose that seat they have held for years, they could dump Johnson.

My question is who would want to be PM. Leading through a pandemic and Brexit would be difficult for someone competent much less a neanderthal like Johnson.

Besides an authoritarian type? I'm really not sure, but I admit to no longer really keeping a close watch on who is coming down the political pipeline.

Warnock is quite literally doing God's work, cozying up to Manchin to push voting rights.
