Without a doubt, an escalation, yet still, being reported without the hysterics that the U.S. media reports the migrant situation at the U.S. southern border, as I've noticed.

I do have the same question about this as I have had about the surges to the U.S. southern border...who/what is behind this and why now? These migrants are reportedly coming from Iraq, not Afghanistan, the site of a lot of upheaval and chaos. In the Belarus/Poland border crisis, some are blaming Russia and Putin himself, of course, Putin denies responsibility, blaming the EU.

So the head of the NJ Senate conceded his race. The candidate for Gov who has no chance of catching up with provisional ballots still has not conceded.

This isn't funny at this point or fair. The only reason he's doing it is to cast doubt and drag it out.  I don't know what it will take to get through to people that this party needs to be voted down until they clean up. They are now doing worse gerrymandering in places like Utah where voters voted on an independent redistricting commission and they are ignoring it and doing what they want. Same thing in Ohio. They don't like what the voters want they just ignore it.

And the media in this country covers CRT and Wokeness.

My optimism in this country is waning. If it was really ever there.

They are going to try to burn books to make a statement.

I don't really believe there is hope left for this country, to be honest, but the only chance of that happening is for the public to either ignore the corporate media at large, or topple the power structure and completely rebuild. They have shown over and over this year alone what a danger they are to us all.

Diminishing the importance of money in political campaigns is one of the truest way to change things (yeah, right, I know). Another is to raise the horribly low voter turnout during municipal and state elections. Perhaps the latter is more achievable than the former, at this point but ignoring this aspect of elections has been a missed opportunity and a detriment to the Democrats, liberal and so-called progressive alike. If the U.S. doesn't make it easier for people to vote (early voting, no-excuse voting by absentee ballot, curbside voting), guess what? Many won't vote! This may require a state by state strategy, but even if reliably Democratic states implement these options, it would make a noticeable difference. I live in a reliably "blue" state and we don't even have half these options. I voted absentee ballot this year only because I was able to check off wanting protection against COVID-19 as an "excuse".

And believe you me, Democrats may not believe that a state by state strategy can be effective but you know who does? Republicans.

    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
