^ That is awful. Yesterday was one of the four days that Yizkor is said. Basically a memorial day where people pray for their dead. I happened to be volunteering at the old age home helping with their service. It was terribly sad. One women lost two husbands and her only child, she was just weeping as the names were read.  Another had a 10 year old granddaughter who passed.  She was fine and then she just fell over from a seizure.

To think while these octogenarians were crying for their dead some monster decided he had to kill more is just unreal.  This is just the reality all of us live with now to some extent. It's worst for religious and racial minorities, but any of us can be killed just because it's Tuesday and some nut with a gun decides he's going to use it. I don't have the first idea how to stop these white men from being radicalized online and I don't think anyone else does either.

For YEARS, white supremacists would go on daytime talk shows, telling everyone who would listen that one day there would be a "race war."  And by God, they got it.

Good for her. Now this is social media done right.

In less happy news, the soulless piece of phlegm and his fellow cretins are back allegedly whipping up false sexual assault allegations, this time against Pete Buttigieg.

Monstrous. And they always get away with it. Luck doesn't last forever.

It tickles the heck out of me that they see Buttigieg as a serious threat to Trump's reelection chances.

They're way off-base, of course, but it still tickles me.

Yes. This was a truly evil thing to do.  Even at this point when nothing should shock any of us, I find this level of dirty dealing surprising. It's the kind of thing that could get someone sent to prison or even killed, but these psychopaths don't care.

There really is no limit to what these people will do to maintain power or to destroy opposition. Jacob Wohl tried to do the same thing to Robert Mueller while the collusion investigation was still occurring. During the Bush administration some Republicans would like to say that Democrats were engaging in politics of personal destruction, but it was always Republicans who were really doing that and now it has really escalated.

What's happening in Venezuela reminds me of all those cheesy '80's action flicks I'd watch as a kid with my mother and older brother. I keep expecting to see "Golan-Globus" in the headlines.

The situation in Venezuela has been a slow moving disaster for a number of years now but I don't believe that Guaidó inspires much trust or confidence among many Venezuelans.  He's already been seen as being co-opted by the Trump administration and to this day, Latin Americans and most of that entire region (including the Caribbean) continue to be wary and mistrustful of the U.S.

Obama inspired some trust in many Caribbean nations and parts of Latin America but he is only one man.  The only other American president who inspired any type of trust is probably Jimmy Carter during his post presidential years.

I'm not even sure what a small portion of the military will do when the rest still cling to some type of loyalty to Maduro, who many in the military don't even care for but believe he is stronger than Guaidó and will likely cling to power, especially if Guaidó is Maduro's only opponent.

    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
    • The show is done. It got canceled at the end of January. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2025/02/fox-first-run-cancels-dish-nation-person-place-or-thing-pictionary-759232
    • I believe it. ESPECIALLY that last one.
    • Aristotle Dumas. Just thought I'd throw that out there!
