Wasn't this guy a big Trump supporter?

Yep and the fact that he is running for the hills makes me think someone got a subpoena.

And who says the U.S. is losing prominence in its ability to influence other countries and their culture(s).

As Kenya’s Vote Nears, Fear That ‘Fake News’ May Fuel Real Bloodshed

I distinctly remember when candidate Obama urged an end to the bloodshed in Kenya during their 2007-2008 elections.  He was so upset with how badly the candidates and their supporters had conducted themselves that when newly elected, he opted to make his first African trip as President to Ghana, not Kenya, which the Kenyans were embarrassed and upset about but afterwards Kenyatta, who ended up being elected as well as his challenger Odinga vowed peace and a better way to resolve differences and for awhile it seemed as if the Kenyan electorate had reformed their ways and the next election was a lot more peaceful, with fewer incidents as everyone aspired to be more like Obama.

Now I see they are again modeling themselves on what the U.S. has done during its elections season but for all the wrong reasons.  In 2012, it was the Obama effect with higher standards and aspirations.

Now its the Trump effect, opting for the lowest common denominator, fake news included.

Our election of Donald was an assault on the world. This country deserves the marginalization we're already starting to see.

Interesting scenes right now in South Africa as a secret ballot (but raucous proceedings) by MPs takes place in regards to whether to oust Jacob Zuma.

WTH is going on with N. Korea today?

The same as usual - that we know more and more about how dangerous their capabilities are and we will continue to do nothing, other than vague and half-hearted threats. I hope that the actual people in charge (not Trump) have some solution beyond bombing or running to their shelters, or saying, "Oh they won't attack us because it would end them." The more that is treated as an absolute the more it sounds like whistling in a graveyard.

I keep wondering if this is a redux of the Iraq War run up complete with assurances of weapons of mass destruction. But at least then the people in charge weren't insane. Corrupt but not actually batshit insane. We're stuck between Trump and his administration filled with incompetent Nazi's and Un who had his own cousin murdered. There aren't any grownups here.

The North Koreans know that Trump has ZERO discipline and are trying to bait him into conflict.

He's supposed to be speaking at a summit meeting on Opiods, are we sure that he hasn't been taking any?
