I feel the same way.  Lord KNOWS I'll never understand why anyone would choose to serve the military for this miserable country of ours.  But hey, if you wanna go overseas and fight terrorists and you just HAPPEN to be transgendered (or gay, or non-Caucasian), be my guest!

The military has been a means for many people to climb out of poverty, especially teenagers who don't have a stable home life. Is that fair? No, but it's better than not having any options at all. There are quite a few benefits (help with college, home loans) if you work it right.

And that's the awful Catch-22. We send poor people of all races off to die in wars for rich people.

Yes, but I'm more disgusted that we send them to kill.  We've been at war for most of the last 20 years, but we haven't had that many casualties. If you say one is too many for a pointless war I'll agree, but the death we've brought to the world is much worse then anything our country has endured. Which I suppose is my round about way of saying that the odds are on a person's side if they choose to use the military to escape a hopeless future. I'd much rather we do more vocational training, but the last year is beating me into a realist.

LOL, Trump, claiming a "jobs initiative" is taking credit for the Foxconn initiative that started at least a year ago.  He's got nothin'!

The Trumpists are eating it up.

Has anyone heard the rumor that Rex Tillerson may be considering leaving?

I wouldn't be surprised to learn it's more than just a rumor. ;)

I figured the Senate had shot down the bill when I saw the Turtle's neck turn bright red.  Oh, well.  Back to the old drawing board, eh, Mitch?

You know it's coming if he needs to gin his base up after firing Sessions. Remember when he said he wouldn't cut Medicaid and HE had a much better healthcare plan? His word means zip.

He doesn't have that power thank the gods. We saw today that some members of the GOP will stand against him. They aren't showing moral courage, don't get me wrong.  They are standing with their own people though and that's something. Perhaps the lowest possible bar for a leader, but still something.
