Biden is on fire at the link above:

Biden is going there on the inequality of police response to BLM vs. yesterday.

He was pounding the lectern on the above.

@ChitHappens yes, much of the media is working hard to whitewash this lunatic woman who got gunned down doing exactly what she wanted to do. She wanted to die...and she did! Frankly, I'd say the world is better off. Call me hard-hearted, but I do. Yet she will be made a martyr by the right and some in the press.

Elaine Chao is a vulture  - I guess you can't say she isn't effective at what she does.

Gotta get a new Wi-Fi router because these threads are loading much too slowly and it's hard to keep up on this lil' old phone ( can't wait to get my computer, which never had this problem, slow Wi-Fi and all).

I wasn't able to read what has been going on with your mother, @JaneAusten
but I will be praying for you, your mother and your family to be surrounded with the help and comfort you need to make things better for your mom and all of your loved ones.

@Vee
I think what your mother is now feeling is righteous indignation, which I have been feeling since yesterday. From your anecdotes about your mother's various efforts, I know that it won't be long before she is channeling that feeling toward meaningful action for the better.

@Khan
your mother is consistent, lol. Maybe it's a survival mechanism? Like, deep deep deeeep down, she knows what things really are but doesn't want to admit it?

Time will tell whether there is true movement to these declarations but it is a lot better than the hapless hand-wringing I was reading about, which never sat right with me as it came across as a lack of political will. At least make the vigorous effort to improve this matter. It's 13 days but a sociopath can do a lot more damage in less time.

First Lady Chief of Staff has resigned. All GOP senators are standing down on the election. VP Pence has cut off communication with President Trump and started talking to the cabinet about the 25th Amendment according to sources from NBC News and Chuck Todd.

Ironically, she was ALL about Black Power BITD.  I don't know where or when that changed.  I just chalk it up to the fact that she (and my dad, when he was still alive) was so susceptible to whatever bull Fox News was shoveling on-air.

@Vee that item about the masks made my blood run cold. I have a feeling that similar to what happened in Pennsylvania a few months ago, those Republicans wanted to infect and kill Democrats.

If that happens, then I hope Pelosi uses this last term to start expelling some of these pieces of garbage, like that fat, mutilated drunk Matt Gaetz.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
