I'm actually agreeing with you on this.  This situation looks extremely messy, at least from my vantage point.  When I think of the "good" i.e. effective propaganda from days of yore, it delivered a very simple, self- assured message that left no doubt or room for people to question (at least not publicly).  This didn't in this instance.  It was all very chaotic, messy and indecisive.  Bad propaganda, AFAIC.

Most countries' leadership (the ones that are a full-functioning democracy and even a few that aren't) now regard Trump as someone who is off his meds.  Denmark basically told him to shove it.

Even N. Korea basically is giving Trump the nuclear test version of "talk to the hand" as they've conducted an unprecedented 6th missile launch test since late July.

Bibi is a messy and thuggish figure so I'm not surprised he didn't go that route.

Today they offered Congresswoman Tlaib the opportunity to visit her grandmother, which she declined (and I can understand why she did), so that ends up making them look magnanimous, even though they have no right to be seen that way. So the optics tilt their way, as usual.

I actually don't think that a whole lot of people are buying that.  And in terms of optics, I'm going to say that Netanyahu still comes out looking worse looks worse. When Haaretz puts humanitarian gesture (i.e. 'humanitarian gesture') in quotes, you know that nobody is fooled.

Netanyahu does have an indictment hovering over him, which is more than ever happened to him previously. I'm seeing more people within the Jewish community publicly chastise him publicly on this latest issue and others just seem very exasperated with the notion of him doing Trump's bidding. Only time will tell how far any of that goes.

There is a fee that has to be if the celebrity is chosen, but there is a nomination and selection process by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Anyone nominated has to be in the entertainment field and Trump managed to get one from being on television. Reality stars have been told outright that they do not qualify for the walk, but Trump managed to get one probably because he was a producer for the Apprentice and that could qualify as a form of creativity. He likely knew people on the nominating committee (which is supposed to be kept super secret to prevent lobbying).

I don't bother with MTP but a lot of people on social media seem to be suggesting that Larry Kudlow is inebriated (or high?) during his interview.  Not sure whether they mean it literally (as opposed to meaning that his ideas are outrageous) and I just don't care enough to watch in order to find out.

    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
