If the networks allow Trump something they wouldn't allow Obama, then I don't want to hear another word about how racism in no way figures into anyone's hatred of the latter.  Not. Another. Word.

The media never liked Obama because they had no respect for him and because they are essentially racist. They fear Trump but deep down they also respect him. He says whatever he wants and people listen. He's teflon. That's what many of them see themselves as being - or what they wish they could be. They thought he was their friend, and deep down they still hope he is.

CBS is also giving one of his old sycophants, Sean Spicer, a gig on Celebrity Big Brother.

I'm glad Colbert is speaking out but I wish he'd just quit as today proves yet again just how much the media hates this country and wants us to suffer.

This did make me laugh:

Five more years of this [!@#$%^&*].  I don't think I can take it.  So, thank God for Hallmark movies?

I called it.  (Well, I ALMOST called it.  I said he'd turn up on "Dancing with the Stars."  But, hey, the year's still young.)

Can we just admit how low the bar is set for white guys in this country?  It's not any special hatred of Obama from the media, it's hatred of non-white guys.

Kamala Harris hasn't even announced and there are forces in the media already training their arrows on her.

In their evident racism, Obama is not even special in that regard.  It would be any intelligent black person who doesn't adhere to their stereotypical notion of what 'a black' is.

I see all the constant stories of black people being harassed for doing everyday things and it seems pretty clear that the hate is real in this country, not just in the U.S. media, and not just for Obama.

There are a good number of people, not just ardent Trump supporters who don't like to see black people live.  Obama must have absolutely infuriated those people...he still does and he's not even in office anymore.

And let's be honest, they hate Michelle Obama too, millions of books sales or not.

One of the things I hope people take away from this nightmare is just how weak and cowardly rich white men have proven to be when up against one of their own. Romney, Tillerson, Kelly, Cohn, etc... one after another these titans of industry act like kicked puppies. They are fine abusing women and POC and the middle class and the poor but the mere thought of Trump's tweets pretty much has them acting like they are afraid he stuff them in a locker. Part of the reason this country is such a joke now is because the entire world sees how we're run by people who are all swagger and no guts.

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
