Once upon a time I respected Joe Scarborough. Never liked him. But he's been as guilty in the breaking apart of the GOP. I watched him slobber over Scott Walker several times, a true puppet of the Koch Brothers, and despite Walker's claims about how fantastic Wisconsin's credit rating became under him, his record in Wisconsin is atrocious.

But I am laughing. He's asking the GOP to dump Trump because he's a democrat now? LMAO ok.

How did I miss this? lol.

Trump was wondering if Hillary would say this..."'I’d like to congratulate my Republican opponent for having done something that nobody has ever done in the history of politics in this nation...'"

"See, I thought she might do something like that. I thought she'd give me a big fat beautiful congratulations. If she did that, would that have been cool? Would that have been great?," Trump said.

Vee - what's interesting is that we've known the governor server has been hacked in the past... the DNC server... and now this campaign stuff... but was there any proof that Clinton's server was hacked? Don't get me wrong, she made a mistake, but seems like maybe those emails were safer from our enemies there than elsewhere... People didn't even know about her server 'til the Republicans in Congress went after her for Benghazi... (though, I do believe an assistant or someone else had been hacked before that and got access to personal account emails...)

Conservative pundit Jennifer Rubin - who I remember being dreadful in the Bush years, but who despises Trump - is just one of many conservative columnists laying out a very stark case as to how the Democrats have replaced the GOP as the 'rational,' patriotic party and changed the game. It's worth reading for opposition research, and for Rubin explaining - again, not the first this week to do so - that center-right Repubs might cross the aisle.

It's ratfucking, alright. But in this case I don't think the Russians are colluding with today's GOP, which is frankly too inept, disorganized and discombobulated over Trump. I think this is the Russians' own operation, maybe with a few rich old men in the States giving them a hand. They do this [!@#$%^&*] by the boatload over there, though, and astroturf our social media and popcult/media sites to try and push opinion on Putin, Russia and the Ukraine. They're deeply invested in that information war, even if their public attempts are often very transparent.

I don't think they'll find anything exciting, but they'll keep trying until someone comes down hard. Or, preferably, ties them directly to Trump, more than we already have.

It's completely f*cked up.

True, but a lot of people are voting for HRC for that very same reason. If anything I feel that Republicans had a lot more choice this election cycle than Democrats ever did.  I do think the convention made a decent case for HRC, but of all the qualified people in our country she wouldn't have been anywhere near my first choice.  It's simply not in me to completely trust anyone who is as rich and powerful as the Clintons have become in the last 20 years.

As to the whole Hollywood elite issue, both Trump and HRC are far more wealthy and powerful than the "Hollywood elite" at this point, so it's a non starter this time around. How can you criticize the Hollywood elite when your candidate is a billionaire (or close) reality star?

Now I think Mike Pence is a radical wingnut but I know he's basically a Koch brother puppet. Maybe even he realizes how dangerous Trump is to our county and has briefed them. I honestly didn't think the Koch;s would care honestly unless there is another motivation. I guess the investment in retaining the senate is more important.

North Carolina voter ID law overturns. Determined to be racially discriminatory.

Judge strikes down Wisconsin  voter ID, early voting laws

I feel like I am living in an alternate universe. The GOP crumbling, voter ID laws being overturned.

As you can see on twitter, Trump is now very notably trying to lay groundwork for escaping the debates. He's complaining that "Crooked Hillary" scheduled them against NFL games, when in fact they were chosen a year ago by an independent commission. The press, fortunately, is dragging him.

    • Shouldn't it be the other way? I don't think Taylor Hayes is playing Rebecca Budig.

    • And the most detailed discussion I've seen from an industry figure about some of JFP's worst choices as a producer (steamrolling over writers) was from another woman, Megan McTavish.
    • IMDb is definitely incorrect, because the final week of episodes in 1974 is uploaded to Youtube in audio form, and Mark and Laurie are there until the very end. The last episode shows Mark going back to the priesthood. I looked at the newspaper and the earliest reference to their house being haunted by Georgina is in December of 1973. This is dated Dec 14, but this same synopsis ran in the papers until the end of December in other publications. So it must have been within those last 3-4 months. I think Stephanie Braxton joined around 1969-1970. I saw it stated in other newspapers that David Gale joined around September 1972.

    • Opal having siblings could add to the story. However, it raises questions about Tad's adoption. Why were the Martins allowed to adopt him if Tad had aunts or uncles who could have cared for him?  Logic limited the number of possible Gardner's (and whatever Opal's maiden name was).  Even though Linda Thorson would have been a hysterical choice given her British accent.  Especially because SOD often published questions by readers who wondered why Tad and Jenny didn't speak like their mother.   All of which is still not an excuse for Tad's evil doppelgänger Ted.
    • And if I remember correctly, at one point, they were considering having Linda Thorson play Opal's sister.
    • Interesting. Makes me wonder how the day to day looked for Secret Storm at this point in the run. This seems very to deal with the psychological aspect, I guess the "inner storm", and the music is almost sinister. If this is from 1974 there's not much room for dates it could've been from as it ended on February 8th.  It's hard to tell from an edit featuring just one storyline, but if this was the day to day it might've been heavy for the casual viewers.   ETA: Stephanie Braxton is credited to have appeared as Laurie from 1970-1973. David Gale is credited only in 1973 and Alexander Scourby from 1972-1973. I know IMDB isn't always right, but I'd say this is likely 1973 - I'm guessing all these characters exited before 1974 and this might be a part of their final storyline.
    • Well, they were both involved with Ray Gardner.  Then, the actress left in 1980, only to return as a somewhat broader interpretation of the character after Dottie was SORASed.  By that time, Opal had left in 1983.  So, while they serve the same story function,(verbally abusive/neglectful mothers who make you feel sorry for their daughters), one could argue that Edna was the carbon copy.
    • Okay, now it's my turn to ask about the Thorntons, namely Edna. Did she and Opal have any scenes together? I ask because I was familiar with Opal first, so when I found out about Edna, my biased mind saw her as the first try for that type of character.
    • There is no dispute that Jill Farren Phelps had a successful career in daytime based on longevity, but that does not preclude discussion and dislike of her decisions at various shows. Sure there may have been some misogyny involved BITD(we don't know as I don't recall JFP ever mentioning that) but the head of CBS Daytime at that point was a woman and there were other women involved BTS. I think that so long as an EP could deliver, or at least talk a good game they would be respected.
