Members LeClerc
A few months ago I'd feel the same way but I've accused Nelson too many times of making stuff up when, in fact, he was ultimately correct.
Members marceline
I agree. But i think its time to consider this the norm and I'm not sure that necessarily bad. Really talented people are going to want to keep their options open. Hell, even crappy actors are going to want to keep their options open. I think soaps need to adapt to market conditions if they stand a chance of surviving. I'm willing to bet that most Kendall/Zendall fans would be willing to sit through four Kendall free months if they knew/thought Kendall would be back. I can think of a number of characters I'd wait around for. Plus it would allow for a broader balance. Perhaps the model is creeping towards change after all. Members AddictedToSoaps
I was wondering the same thing. Damn. First Rebecca Budig and now Andrea Evans, all in one day. My poor heart can't take it! Fight for her Ron!
Members Vee
I'm still hoping the AE thing turns out like all Nelson's other "big bombshells"-kinda fizzling out. Even the Ed Scott scandal didn't turn out to be quite what he called it.
Members miajere
I think the issue goes into the fact that soaps love to keep people on who seem tied to soaps as a last alternative, instead of keeping the actors who seem to really love the soap work. Forbes March, Hunt Block, Renee Goldsberry, Grayson McCouch come to mind, along with a long list of actors that want to invest in their soap work and yet aren't accommodated in the writing department. It's interesting when I see actors drift from one show to another. It would be nice in the days of this dying genre that tptb pretend to enjoy working with people and nurture what these actors do. If you give them good characters to play, between fan loyalty and family options, they would probably be more than interested in staying long term with less than one or two outs a year. Members y&r_fan
I actually agree with Blanco on two points this week: 1) that Michael Graziadei leaving would be a massive loss for Y&R, and 2) that Drew Tyler Bell is a bore.
Members reallyhateskateonlost
Say what?! Binks on AMC is 12 months prego with Zach's child?! He would never cheat on Kendall. This has got to be inside Kendall's head since she'll be in a coma.
Members JackPeyton
I *think* the 12 motnhs prego thing was a joke at how prego she is when she comes back, i think shes full on about to pop. And he didnt sleep with bianca, He just.. umm.. lent her his stuff and they put it in her so that her baby woulkd be not only related to her first child but also Kendell & Zach's. (altho, they dont only have one and the other one is Ryans or summen like that? OH GOD! What if Ryanw as the daddy?!! lol. so glad they went with Zach. Members David_Vickers
The 12 months pregnant thing is a joke. Nelson jokes a lot in his columns. I hope ABC/OLTL can work something out with Andrea Evans so she can stay as Tina. I think OLTL should look at Alexis Thorpe (ex-Cassie Brady, DAYS), Heather Lindell(ex-Jan Spears, DAYS) or other young soap actresses.
Members MarkH
Nope...selfishly, I want Evans to leave OLTL and begin her role as Patty Williams/Tawny Moore (they are the same person, IMO) on Y&R.
Members Sylph
Well, yeah, I want Frederick Johnson to be Y&R's next head writer, but no one's asking me for opinion. He was, after all, a student of two greats: first Bill then Agnes.
Members Vee
The only time I've been into Drew Tyler Bell was during his stint on Broadway in Spring Awakening. He played the gay kid in that so unbelievably fey that I was convinced he was either a) gay or actually a good actor. He played it fairly str8 on 90210 a few weeks ago. Members Desertrose
Ummmm...so Bianca would be having little Ian's half sibling and cousin all at the same time? Zach is the father & uncle?? Kendall is the aunt & ???? This is really twisted. I can see the promo now....."My brother is my cousin!"
Members NYC123
I'm glad we get a four month break from Kendall. But I want Eden and TB to sign longer with AMC.
