I like to call her an FC-reject character 🤣

Hahaha.

Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.

So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL.

But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season. 🤣

The last five or so episodes of season 8 after the Jean Hackney story ended were pretty strong with the Laura/Val friendship breakdown, Ben's PTSD with Val trying to help him, and the start of Jill realizing that Val was as much of a threat to her happiness with Gary as Abby was.

True.

@Liberty City Agreed, it started pretty slow, but once Jill falls off the cliff, I was more invested for some reason. Yes, I genuinely enjoyed the episodes surrounding Greg's fake death. I agree, it began quite slowly, but once Jill fell off the cliff, I became much more invested for some reason. I guess bc more of the cast was working together.

I'm dreading going into the ninth season; I've got to be mentally ready for it. 🤣 Does not help these seasons are damn near thirty episodes. Twenty-two should've been their cut-off.

Yeah, it would've made things more tightly woven.

The early part of the season is decent. After that, Season 9 is one of the worst seasons until season 13. Season 10 is a little worse.

I always thought that the Jean Hackney story should have ended at mid season at the latest... and then deal with the fall-out because seeing Ben/Val switch roles with Ben in mental decline instead of Val would have been interesting to explore.  And seeing Val and Laura's friendship suffer also was interesting and should have been explored especially with Karen caught in the middle and Abby both intrigued and amused at the conflict that she didn't cause.

However, season 8 was the only Latham run season where Val was well written.

That would have made sense, even if it cost us one of my favorite scenes (Ben putting Lilliemae in a headlock).

Only thing I enjoyed was Abby / Olivia, etc., and the addiction storyline. Otherwise, I could do without the season.

That's an excellent storyline and leads to the show's last strong season finale.

A scene I cannot wait to see. Julie Harris as Liliemae is the gift that keeps on giving; she's not outright evil, but frustrating, and in her own way, still pretty lovable.

Most definitely; twenty-two, to me, is the perfect number.

I should say a number of people do enjoy the season 9 and 13 finales. I get the appeal of the 9 finale. I just do not like the storyline.

Agree. Season 9 goes off the rails. Season 10 to the end is off the rails plus budget mode. The final five seasons for me were a chore to get through.

Ugh.. I'll jump into it at some point; I just have to be in that mindset to venture in.

The Constance and John Locher Room will be starting in about twenty minutes.

I have to watch much later. I am watching Trisha Mann-Grant and Ambyr Michelle with Michael Fairman.
