It is so nice to finally see so much Victoria. I hope this Amy storyline actually goes somewhere for Victoria and she isn't just being used to prop this chick.

Whenever I see Viv now I just get sad. There are so many other people on this show I would have swiftly given the boot to before her.

SNAP! That's how I feel about Viv and Victoria.

I guess Chas' revenge will be the only good thing about this affair story, considering they've ruined Carl, in order to make Eve the sympathetic one.

Kelly returning isn't that random, considering Jimmy & Nicola need a story, and she'll provide it. The last I heard/saw, Adele Silver was working as a sales assistant in some store in LA - clearly she got fed up with that, and came back to England, ready to accept the ED offer. It's an opportunity she couldn't *afford* to turn down.

I liked Jimmy & Kelly as a couple; they clicked. And Jimmy was certainly her lapdog, just like he was Sadie's, too. That's part of who Jimmy is: a bumbling big hearted door mat.

I just wonder if the poor pacing and empty characterizations which have plagued other stories will plague this one too. If she is returning solely for a story with Jimmy and Nicola it's going to seem pointless.

I just hope she has dropped all the baby talk. I liked her when she was a little more serious.

I remember Jimmy being that way with Kelly and Sadie (although he was a little more cold to Sadie, since she was so contemptuous towards him), but it usually makes me laugh because some at DS insist that Jimmy was never like this until Nicola.

It probably will. You can just see Kelly returning, causing a bit of drama for Jimmy & Nicola, then will randomly prop up the bar for a while, as she mingles with some of the other backburnered characters. This of course will last for awhile, b/c unlike EE, characters don't just disappear for months on end, only their storyline does.

Those people at DS were either not watching at the time, or have Selective Memory Syndrome. I guess he'll continue being Nicola's lapdog, while being drawn back into Kelly's orbit. He's only really in lapdog mode when he's with someone, and Nicola fills that void ATM. I just wonder how they'll distinguish Kelly from some of the other gals, considering they have enough characters similar to her already.

They should have her scheme with and against Eve, that would be interesting. You're right that the show has destroyed Carl, although what they did to Chas probably bothers me even more. The characters have lost their heart and their spirit.

The show seems to have no real idea where to take stories -- the latest being Rhona's pregnancy, which is like the epitome of "I don't know what to do with this story."

I don't really know what things will change , because the ratings have been good. I just hope Blyth doesn't listen to those who are constantly demanding anyone over 60 or anyone who is used as a weak comedy character should be fired. As long as characters like Holly Barton dominate story, the word "dead wood" is off limits, IMO.

Rhona's gonna be pregnant! I had no idea. Well, I knew someone was gonna be up the duff, but I assumed it was gonna be Eve - that would've been predictable, yes, but not so random as Rhona. Seriously, what's the point? Are Paddy & Rhona some great love that needs this obstacle thrown in their path?

The only thing remotely believable about Holly's acting, is her make-up. Why the hell didn't they test her out before casting her for this meaty role, is anyone's guess.

I'm calling it, Amy is Val's daughter.

This Jackson story is so boring. Hopefully now that Jackson is completely paralyzed, he'll just save us all the trouble and kill himself. Seeing as that is unlikely, the show needs to spice this storyline up a bit. Why not have some guy aggressively court Aaron. Could he really live, at 18, without ever having sex again? Play on those doubts, but you could also play up how this is the one person to ever fight for Aaron, which could be another factor in having him sway from Jackson. Plus, like Aaron said, he never loved the schmuck anyway.

Aaron is basically a loser -- that's what every story seems to be about. At this rate I think they should just write him out since they are never going to develop him. To have some poor guy crippled just to make us weep for Aaron because Aaron doesn't know how to love, it's like bad fanfic.

Wow, something interesting finally happens with the Aaron story.

...offcamera.

Danny Miller's Twitter had a few comments showing his anger when Eastenders won a mental health award.

He eventually added that it wasn't him, someone else had put that in there.

The "wasn't me!" excuse again? Sure...

He's always seemed like a very jealous person at award shows when he doesn't win anything. And it doesn't help that he constantly whores himself on his Twitter to get people to vote for him for awards, and then feeds the fake "we don't do this for awards" speech to the press.

I don't think the press said that much about it. A lot of fans seemed to agree with him though. Of course that was before he kept asking people to vote for him and when the story was actually good.

Oooh. It seems like a classic case of "it went to his head," then. I've only seen bits and pieces of the storyline. I watched a few episodes when I was getting back into EE/Corrie, and I thought they were all right. It was right after Jackson's accident, so Aaron was moping around being sad without being sad.

What's the current view on ED right now? Would yall recommend it or not? Not that I need to be getting in on another soap as I'm still about a week and a half behind on EE...

It's very depressing and uninvolving at the moment.

Yes, there's not much to really praise, unfortunately. I'm taking a break on the series, but will watch Viv's departure.

Geez they really are running out of ideas.

My guess is Viv and a good but never used character like Gennie or Terry will die. Or Alan. Or someone brought in just to add up the body count -- like that man with the mustache who works at the factory. I just hope they will do this better than the farce that was the Hollyoaks fire.
