I saw a comment saying the show will be renamed Branningville.

I have to admit that I laugh and laugh and laugh when I hear people say oh it was so much better with the Mitchells in this role. Now they know how I felt.

Sounds like Zainab won't get a good exit.

The Brannings now consist of: Max, Tanya, Lauren, Abi, Oscar, Jack, Joey, Alice, Cora, Ava, Dexter, Kirsty, Carol, Bianca (they're written more as Brannings these days), and Dot (who is being placed as the matriarch of the Branning family, when she's more like family to Sharon and the Beales).

No show is ever better when one family/character dominates.

Zainab's exit doesn't sound like it will be that great. They seem to be regressing her, much like they did with Syed when he left, instead of showing that these characters have developed some what due to recent events.

I am liking EE right now, but I agree with the majority. The Brannings need cutting down as it is getting repetitive and they aren't as good of a family as The Mitchells are *Cue Mitchell bias".

The Mitchells dominance in a way was more entertaining because The Mitchells as a family are more interesting, complex and enjoyable. The Brannings aren't as good.

Anyway, What are people's thoughts on the new family coming in later this year ? No details yet, but they expect to come Spring/Summer time. Thoughts ?

Who is complex in the Mitchell family? Hell, they aren't even a family anymore.

The only time they worked was in the early 90's when it was just Phill and Grant (with Sm through in and out).

I am looking forward to a new family and hope its executed well, it could be just what the show needs.

Watching some Doug and Julie clips it's come to my attention that the wonderful Bill Hayes has a lot of similarities to Jake Wood. That must be why I excuse Max for so much crap.

Well, even though she had some really shoddy writing for years on the show, I am going to miss Zainab/Nina Wadia. I'm glad they gave her a Julia's Theme for her last episode. Too bad the actual exit felt rushed and unplanned.

Special kudos to Nina Wadia who always gave it her all, even when the material wrote the character into a wall. I hope she returns one day as they didn't kill Zainab off.

I haven't watched recently either. No real reason, just busy with a lot of other things.

I'm sorry to see her go too. When I first started watching August of last year, she was very off-putting at first but I quickly started to enjoy her and even miss when she wasn't on. It was the actress too. What a great actress. I can see her doing so many other things. She's fantastic. What a loss for EE.
