Awful character and awful actress, I think. I'm surprised you like a character like that...

I also don't think she brings anything to the show.

She didn't have much to do in her first episode, but I think there's lots more to come on the bitchy front. She's stirred my interest thus far though. I though she had a good entrance when she rode in.

Love her as a combo with Leon. Leon is such a cliched jerky character, those two should've stayed... She is so obnoxious and irritating, I love her. Perhaps it's a case of what you see in Ben: you love him because he annoys people. The same, kind of, can be said with Zsa Zsa and me. I didn't find her a terrible actress at all.

The entrance with the parking of the car & her first line were kind of cliched.

But she will be fun, I hope.

NEW character Vanessa Gold doesn’t hang about – and neither does her daughter. Vanessa, played by Zoe Lucker, wastes no time in getting to know Max in a very intimate way in the car lot cabin (classy).

She fails to tell him that she’s married and has a teenage daughter, Jodie. When she turns up in the Square, Darren is instantly smitten by her and they go on a date.

Devious Danny continues to stir up trouble between Roxy and Ronnie, then Roxy asks him to become her business partner. Big mistake.

The MItchells get a rare bit of good news at Ben’s hearing when Jordan comes clean about taunting his attacker.

Billy leaves for the Army after a fond farewell from Whitney. Surely it will come as light relief after being shouted at by Carol.

As I said before, there was definitely a change in tone on the show with today's episode. I think all of the newly introduced characters were good and have great potential, and the show seems lively again. This was definitely the best episode this week and dare I say in weeks...

True.

However, you know what else I found a cliché? Drunk Person Reveals the Truth. That was just a teeny weeny bit too evident.

Tameka Empson was good, but not fabulous beyond words.

I left out the word scene.

    • no argument here! and as she was singing, i kept wondering how many verses ‘amazing grace’ had. looked it up: 13 — 13! — and i think she must have sung  every one.
    • Yasss, ANITA!!! GET HER!!!   Awww at Smitty calming Martin down.   'Oh, you're the one leaving.' That face like stone. Go 'head, Nicole.    Eva vs Kat...the gift that keeps giving.
    • I have to admit I still have a nagging complaint about timelines - Why aren't we allowed to know how long Ted and Nicole have been married or how old Kat and Eva are? Or for that matter, when Anita last released an album? BTG is a new show with no SORAS or timewarping. MVJ and Guza are working from a fresh bible. There is no need to be so coy about ages and anniversaries, especially when most of the storylines are driven by past events.
    • It was an extremely rare interview even then - I was shocked when I read it (as mentioned I'd forgotten just how far in she went). You could see how hurt and annoyed she was. I'm surprised he thought she came up with the baby story herself. She and Charles Keating did a good job with the material but it was absolute hokum. Even if they loved Carl and Rachel (and clearly they did), I don't see them coming up with stuff that, frankly, read like Geocities fan fic. Malone was clearly hobbled by NBC and P&G, but re-using so many of his old stories and his soap bible instead of actually coming up with material suited to the characters or show did not help.
    • Seeing this trash get good ratings says nothing good about daytime audiences. It's embarrassing.
    • Cat does feel committed to being a goofball (the other term has been reconsidered in recent years).  I wonder, given her brother Aaron, if Cat was less attractive prior to the surgery?  Remember the 1973 movie The Girl Most Likely to?  My fanfic for the moment is Cat commenting on how people treat her differently now that she is gorgeous.  One assumes that pre-surgery, Cat never had two men fighting over her for a date.  So, it might be fun to see that side of the story.
    • It's probably one of the only conflicts the story will have, aside from Dante being upset with Lulu when the truth comes out. They really needed someone else who actually knows Gio is Dante and Brook Lyn's son and kept quiet.
    • So Cat wasn't a creation of Ron C.. but something that the strike writers generated? Perhaps the new writers will give her some layers and purpose on the show that doesn't revolve around Chad since isn't he on his way out next year?
    • Another good show today, but -- Why is super agent Joss holding that thumb drive in plain sight instead of stashing it in her denim shorts? Make it make sense. -- Dante going after Gio (in the previews) for Rocco's alcohol poisoning is lame and cliche, just a contrived way to drive a wedge between father and son.
    • Didn't he get all angry because the strike writers set her up to be Abigail? And he just went with the first thing that came to mind in order to prevent that?
