Chemistry between Susan Lucci and Mario Van Peebles?

Has there ever been LESS chemistry between two people? Poorly written and sloppily executed, to be sure, but this so-called storyline is as flat as the pancake that killed Dixie. Susan's trying her best, but Mario "acts" like he needs a double shot of Metamucil. Does his facial expression EVER change? I hope the new regime recognizes the lack of heat and bails a.s.a.p. (and why, oh why, can't they bring DIMITRI back? Now THAT was chemistry!!)

I think they have hot chemistry, now that the writers are finally writing for Sam. I can't wait tell erica gets out of prison. Amc would be wise not to put erica back with boring ass jackass, I would rather them bring Vincent Irizzary back or freaking let Michael nader return because I don't think MVP is gonna make a long career in soaps, but I could be wrong.

I agree that Susan appears to be trying earnestly to make them click, but he is just DOA. Would love her with Irizarry, but for some reason the suits were against that. For a while when Frons took over until Bianca's rape, maybe even later, he and Susan weren't even allowed to share scenes together. They had some great chemistry. Same with Nader, but ABC wouldn't even rehire him to scrub the lobby floors. The Jeff Martin revisit could have worked if they had a more appealing actor than John James, if the writing had made any sense, and if Jeff were allowed to be a real, fleshed-out character rather than a transparent plot device.

Actually, sudz4u, those pancakes looked light and buttery to me. ;)

Seriously, though, I think I'm in accord with you; IMO, La Lucci and MVP share zero chemistry. Which is shameful to me, since I, for one, always wanted AMC to explore an interracial relationship for Erica. I just wish they'd found someone who was more...genuine as an actor.

If Pratt has any sense, he'll revisit Adam and Erica. One great thing B&E did during their time at AMC was bring Adam and Erica back into orbit as good friends and equals in a way. No one can read Adam like Erica can and vice a versa (now that Brooke is pining away in the attic).

Sam Woods and Erica don't have any spark what so ever.

    • To me, Judith McConnell (Sophia, SB) was more poised for Beth than anyone else. Yes, she was, as Sister Beatrice.
    • Is that even still possible? I thought that too at first but with Jan saying that she's never lied to Ashley about who her father is... Does Ashley even know who her dad is?
    • Unfortunately I only had one or two pages from those months. I believe I posted them but it would only cover one or two shows.
    • I think she would have been fine, although Beth was a thankless part. She probably was seen as aging out of the genre after AW.  I forgot she was on Sunset Beach.
    • Nicole's lucky Im no a soap villian bc if I was Wig, Id replace the liquid in her Febreze bottle with an odorless poison so that everytime she sprayed that thing, she'd be slowly killing herself

    • OK, I like the Cat interactions with Xander and EJ. And, I get that there are new writers. But, Clyde was shot 12/11/2024.  So, why have we not heard Xander or EJ's response to the situation for five months!  Clyde shot EJ (or he ordered him shot), shouldn't he react more to the news of his coma.  And, I've never heard EJ or Kristin mention that the woman who lived with them last summer was a fraud. Rather than giving lip service to the idea of family and community, at least it feels like everyone no longer lives in a bubble. Also, while it makes sense to use the hospital as the prize in the war between EJ and Xander.  We all have to admit that under the prior writer, at least Xander, and I think EJ, were dissuaded from buying the hospital went it started to go under in March.  I get the magic sepsis cure makes the hospital more valuable.  But, it seems like the people who are going to get rich are going to be the pharmaceutical companies.  Unless, Kayla and Sarah are going to start manufacturing prescription drugs out of the coffee machine in the lobby.  -- crud, I broke my promise to stop complaining about illogical this story can be. Did anyone else notice less outrage from fans that University Hospital may close, versus the impassioned cries when the Horton living room was burnt down for two day?  I wonder if it reflects our overall dislike of the health care industry?
    • I don't know if I could have seen that from her, honestly. But I feel like, outside of GH and her original DAYS stint, American daytime really didn't pay much attention to her, even though they should have.
    • Co-sign, 100% on this one. Xander was entirely in the wrong.
