Not to mention that itis TOO FREAKING LOUD.

Not even LML got rid of ALL music cues, but JFP has done so apparently. Not a single classic cue is used anymore. And the new ones sound alll sooooo corny. It's like a neverending 90s synthesizer europop revival.

Yep, the music is too loud, there is too much 70s porn music, and that Avery/Dylan song is so piss poor. It is just downright bad music. Someone said that JFP is friends with the band which is why is promoting their music. Her friends are everywhere helping ruin every soap she gets her hands on.

It's such a damn shame to say this but at least MAB made sure to use some classic scores.....

why did she have to be the show;s death knell??, on paper you would think she really was suppose to restore the show to the glory days :(

The directing AND the music was very much like the good old days when Ed Scott was still producing. She really loved the classic cues, quite some few were dusted out of library and hadn't been used for 10+ years - and in general she provided viewers with what is considered classic Y&R. Too bad her storytelling abilities were too shortsighted and failed miserably, probably due to Hammner and Sheffer involved but it she was long enough in charge to provide some memorable stories beyond her promising initial 12 months. I appreciate some changes JFP has brought to the show (casting! spot on acting!) but the music is so extremely dreadful it's beyond the meaning of the word. And those crappy sight angle camera shots ruin the visual alongside the musical appeal.

Great, another FOJ to make Y&R's music even worse. I don't know how or why Sony/CBS does nothing while these people use Y&R to provide work for their friends and push their personal agendas. Surely it has got to be cheaper to pull the old musical cues out of storage since they already own the rights to them.

Btw, that song played when Victor and Nikki was dancing was horrific. It was by the same FOJ, if not the same terrible group. Blech. They cannot sing or write half-way decent music.

I'm hoping someone in this thread can help me. What is the music that plays from 3:12 to 3:48? And where can I get it? smile.png

Had to Post this......I have been looking for this piece forever, it's the instrumental version of "Bless the Beasts and the children" that they used on Y&R a lot in the 70's and mostly throughout the 80's and 90's.

I know. :( Y&R has the worst background music now....yes, even worse than Brent Nelson and Ken Corday's DAYS music. And music is suppose to be one of JFP's strength as a producer. Yeah right.

Who was the composer at OLTL during the Gottlieb/Bedsow Horgan era?

David Nichtern and Lee Holdridge were there from at least 1992 to the end of the ABC broadcast.
