1987 it started to decline.  1988 and 89 were the bottom of the barrel, its nadir. 1990 and 91 were spent trying to recover.

Yet these years overlap w/ the Daytime Emmy run 1988-1990. Got to hand it to JFP for stepping up her block voting game.

I was about to post the same thing. Marcy and A. look very rough.

I see MVJ!!

In Marcy Walker defense, she looks like a nearly 63 year old woman that does not make regular visits to a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. She retired from acting and allowed herself to age normally.

I think Marcy looks pretty damned good. She’s aging naturally and is recognizable and looks healthy.

It made me oh-so happy to see Ava Lazar there, especially given her treatment within the first 90 episodes. And while I am not a Cruz/Eden fan, it's lovely to see A & Marcy reunite... and you can tell even she was surprised by how much she was likely enjoying it, given how removed A & others have said she's been from everyone.

I agree.  She might look older, but she has retained her beauty.  Jesus does a body good, lol.

Miranda Wilson looking better here than how she ever looked on her last stint on DAYS!

Vincent Irizzary was completely wasted on Santa Barbara. The big mistake was making him a doctor. For whatever reason, this show could never do doctors or medical stories; all attempts were blah; it just wasn't their thing.

I agree.

I liked the Scott and Heather coupling... but the show didn't know how to write for them as a couple nor as individual characters (though Heather fared better then Scott).

Any character that wasn't Cruz/Eden, CC/Sophia, Mason/Julie, Kelly, or Gina didn't fare well with the writers even if the story arc was interesting.
