I associate it with 1985 when Catlin's flashbacks started and after Brittany first came to town. For example when Brittany went back to Dry Creek to make up her mind what to do after Mary Page Keller left as Sally. But that doesn't mean that You Were Always On My Mind didn't come up later as well. Brittany thought about Catlin constantly, even when she was married to Peter.

SB truly was a soap of the 1980s. I was rewatching a few early scenes and always enjoyed Jade consoling drunk Amy at the State Street Bar before Brick came in and had to rescue Amy from a lecherous patron. "Dancing in the Dark" by The Boss was playing in the background, to be immediately followed by "If This Is It" by Huey Lewis and The News. It tickles me to remember that those songs were brand new then and not the pop classics they are now.

There was a scene around the same time when Christie has her Walkman on and dancing to Madonna's Material Girl at the Capwell mansion. And then another scene where Kelly borrowed some of Ted's records and one of them was Bruce Springsteen's big albums at the time.

I think it is a shame that Sophia never got to get justice from Minx for switching her child at birth and making her think she shot her son.

I get that Minx 1.0 was treated like a sacred cow, but by the time Minx 2.0 rolled into town Sophia should have smacked her so hard that the magical spring water couldn't save her face.

That would have been awesome and given Sophia more storyline. Sorry the one awesome scene right after it was all revealed wasn't enough.

What I never fully agreed with was the assumption that Brick was only alive because of the switch. The reality is that the bits we saw of Channing showed that Channing and Brick had very different moral compasses. I don't think Sophia would have shot Brick because Brick wouldn't have had all of those people parading through the library (or office- tgat room) that day. Also not sure he would have been on the "get Santana and my son gone" train with CC. I believe Brick and CC would have butted heads worse than either CC and Mason or Ted. I kind of feel like Channing took after his bio Dad and had some issues. Sorry, I know the show tried to turn Mr. Wallace into a decent guy, but the dude full on abandoned his wife and child.

TIME OUT! What!?! You mean Sophia didn't shoot Channing?!?

Remember, I only watched up to 1989 the first go around, so I wasn't aware if they continued with this storyline past that. I knew about the Eden/Lisa thing vaguely. Wow, this just gave me another reason to continue watching

Yes it is a fun scene, but there are no long term story consequences for what occurred, and as I recall, the Lockridges never find out that CC and Dylan were rigging the casino

You have to rewatch the episode when Cruz reenacts the murder (complete with everyone getting dressed in formal wear for some reason) to find out the real killer.

    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
