Wasn't Minx supposed to be 35 years CCs senior even though they de-aged the recast? I think we should probably stop right there

Perhaps I misunderstood what I heard but I thought Julia becoming pregnant was intended to be the spoiler for Mason/Victoria, not Julia herself. I assumed that the original plan was for Mason/Victoria’s marriage to become real and then Victoria is thrown for a loop with the news that Mason is having a kid with someone else or he wants to hide it, etc. Even when the actual story played out, he didn’t want Victoria to know the truth until she figured it out for herself. I can’t recall the reason behind that

The rumor mill at the time also spun the theory that Kristen Meadows was supposed to have been a Janice recast as the original actress was written out by then. One of the mags had a "Look who's back!" headline and supposedly the bringing-back-Janice plans were scrapped and a new role was created for Kristen Meadows. I will see if I can dig up any more info, perhaps with an interview with her

That would have been nuts considering the supposed age difference between the characters, but nothing would surprise me. We never got any real insight on who Cassie's father was. Overall, I was a big Cassie fan and disappointed when they made her completely bonkers and wrote her out.

That was what I recall reading.

And Cassie was never hinted as being CC's. She was his foster daughter that lived with the Capwells for a time, around the time she was assumed dead, but that's it.

Yeah, but soaps aren't known for being good at Math. Sophia was a starlett in the late 60's. Then she became the stepmother to Marcello, who was a kid in the early 40's, who was angry at CC for something that happened in '44 at the latest. CC was an adult when that happened, at least 42 years ago. But CC and Lionel are supposed to be the same age- but only sometimes. And by the time Minx found the fountain of youth and became 30 some years younger, it simply no longer made sense.

And also, this is the only show where children didn't get sucked into weird Star Trek Time Vortexes where they go in as children and come out teenagers.

Did the Brandon character stay on with the last portrayer until January 1993?  When did the practice of SORASing gain steam? I believe DAYS was the greatest abuser of this practice. Y&R SORASed the Newman children in the early 90s

No, Justin Gocke (RIP) faded out around 1991 or 1992-ish. Around the time Gina gave birth to Channing III and married Lionel.

I think that he was someplace else and people think he was about to get SORASed, but it didn't happen.

I would be very interested in when Johnny Wallace grew up and discovered that he was really a king. That could have been great.

If you remember/know, how did they work around the fact that she wasn't able to have any more children due to her fall in 1985? I guess the medical science always advances!

Brandon was gone most of the last year of the show and rumors they were planning on SORASing him but the show was cancelled before then. I don’t know how old but I could see them wanting to age him a few years because they had that whole college crew going on during that time whereas he was around 14 in 92 and there was no one his age to interact with.

Remind me, did Brick leave town with Johnny after his relationships post-Amy didn't work out? They didn't go to New Staitland, did they?

    • I thought Daniel Goddard did a great job in those scenes with Joss. He might be the rare villain this show got rid of too soon, because it feels like he had great potential as a character we'd love to hate.
    • @titan1978 About 80% of what you said is untrue. But believe what you want.

At some point, Victor, you must blame yourself that both Caroline and Fiona didn't want him to know they bore his sons.  But, looking back, I thought Bo would be richer as Victor's firstborn son than he turned out to be.

    • How did you guess that! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Anita was serving "solo artist" realness the whole time. Stole the show.

    • Bye bye Dalton. Unfortunately this is going to fall on Sonny though, when for once he didn’t kill anyone.

"Grief, mental illness... and a handjob." Let's get done with the hardcore drama first... before we continue with the lighter stuff. Bo's condition worsened after the hot psychiatrist gave the risky idea to SHOW him Sarah's body. Dr. Jonas is triggering these people into catastrophes every day. It's almost like he gets pleasure out of this. Well... they did show him Sarah and the result was BAD. Bo went into a crazy meltdown, locked himself with the corpse... and started putting blankets on her to warm her up. Disturbing scene... yet powerful work from Robert S. Woods. Bo's resolve came at the end of December 7th's episode when he let Viki come inside and talk to him. I've chosen this as the clip of the day - anyone who ever underestimates or puts down soap actors, just because they are working in a soap... should see this. And then we'll talk. Very powerful.  Viki did what she does best - performed a miracle almost, getting Bo to open up and let the family in. And after that... everyone was looking at her like she is God. The children... Clint himself... everyone standing by the door expecting "savior Viki" to continue being the mother figure they desperately need. But Viki is also a woman. Woman, whose heart is no longer in that house with Clint... She wants to be with Sloan so bad... she has started looking at her husband in a different, colder way. He even came to her bedroom in his robe, probably expecting Viki to invite him in... but he got a chilly response.  Alongside Bo's terrifying breakdown... there were some grim events unfolding at Asa's house as well. Dorian and Blair's fighting made Addie become aggressive towards Asa of all people. She attempted to stab him with a pair of scissors. Asa then finally said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!". It's either the baby or your sick mother. She must make a choice. What he doesn't realize... is that there is no baby. When he decided to contact Blair's doctor to inquire about her pregnancy... she knew she had to act FAST - likely fake a miscarriage. Jesus Christ, Blair!  This leads me to the storyline that consistently disappoints and undermines the overall mood of the show. Just picture having these intense storylines - involving... family, breakups, betrayal, grief, mental illness, and manipulation... and then suddenly, you see Alex giving Mortimer a handjob in the Buchanan Palace restaurant amidst all these other powerful scenes. Some might argue that this is precisely why such moments are there - to dilute the drama and darkness... but the result is far from enjoyable. It turns the entire show into a circus. You can't expect me to be emotional in one scene and then witness Alex reaching into Mortimer's pants... without cringing. It's a bit too abrupt... too early. It ruins everything and makes me despise... despise the characters involved. It's pathetic.    Overall -  6.5/10 - it would be a perfect 10 if you removed Alex and Mortimer. But I can't do that and I've decided it's enough giving them (the writers) slack about this. It's annoying, not funny and needs to end. If this was Bold... I would have been tearing them to pieces... but just because they've given me so much good material... I've forgiven idiocy time and time again. I have nothing against handjobs (quite the contrary actually), but I can't see them in the midst of a man crying over a corpse and a mentally ill woman attacking someone with scissors.    Clip of the day Viki consoles grieving Bo.
