Here is a 1991 feature on Justin Gocke from the Sun-Sentinel in Florida. I think this was only a few months before he left SB.

Justin Gocke - A Hollywood Success At 13

October 4, 1991 | By JEREMY MURPHY, Coral Springs High School

It`s a hot Thursday afternoon. Waiting at New York City`s famed Rosie O'Grady's Irish restaurant, a redheaded, pint-sized soap star is noticed, five minutes early. He walks up to the table, introduces himself, then sits down and orders a soda. His name is Justin Gocke, and if you don`t recognize him now, you will. Not only is he a soap star, but he`s going to be a movie star. And he has only just become a teen-ager.

Justin, at age 13, has gotten farther in his acting career than most actors go in a lifetime. Working steadily since age 7, Gocke is fast becoming one of the biggest child actors in the industry. After all, it is not every day that a 13-year-old has an Emmy award sitting in his bedroom, or flies to Australia to film a feature movie for two months. But for Justin, it`s all in a day's work.

Justin is best known for his role on Emmy award-winning soap opera Santa Barbara, where he portrays prodigal son Brandon Capwell, a role that garnered Gocke the Emmy in 1989.

"Santa Barbara has been a great experience for me," Justin says. "It has given me a lot of acting experience, experience I plan to use in other things."

The road to success started at an early age for Justin, who made his first TV appearance in the acclaimed ABC movie The Burning Bed with Farrah Fawcett.

"We were only going to try it for a while," Justin explains, referring to the time when he and his brothers and sister got involved in the entertainment industry. "They didn't really like it. I was the only one who enjoyed it."

Soap operas and commercials, however, are taking a back seat to his next project. Justin and his mother traveled to Australia during the spring where Justin filmed the upcoming movie Moonride.

"We just got back from filming it," Justin says, proudly. "My character goes to visit my grandfather, and while he`s there, his grandfather dies. He and his friends go to his wake, and then they accidentally resurrect him."

Moonride, also starring Al Lewis of The Munsters, is to open this Christmas.

However, Justin isn't leaving the soap world behind. He is still featured heavily on Santa Barbara, where his character is caught between his real mother and adoptive mother.

Lately, he has been dealing with the fact that his adoptive mother, Gina (Robin Mattson), robbed a sperm bank and impregnated herself with the sperm of her ex-husband. "I can't believe she would rob a sperm bank!" Justin says, laughing.

"Brandon is a good guy. If I had to change him, though," the actor says with a mischievous smile, "I'd make him into a little evil kid. Brandon's getting bad. He's been suspended from school a couple of times. I'd like to see him be not such a nice kid anymore."

Success hasn't changed the young actor much. Justin lives in a quiet suburb outside of Los Angeles with his parents, an older sister and brother. His other brother resides at West Point Military Academy in New York. Justin mainly enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing soccer and rollerblading. But more than anything, Justin likes just being a kid.

Jed Allan, best known to us SB fans as the final and definitive CC Capwell, can now be seen in reruns on MeTV. They are showing Celebrity Bowling, which was Jed's side gig while starring as Don Craig on DAYS back in the 70s.

Even if your area doesn't carry MeTV, you can watch CB episodes on their website. Gotta love Jed's plaid leisure suits and platform shoes!!!

    • '92. I was looking for when Vanessa called Billy a sonofabitch. Then I got sucked into '92 and got rewarded by finding Vanessa and Mo getting sloshed. (3/6/92, I believe). Then the Blackout...lol, and just kept falling down the rabbit hole. This is lateOct/earlyNov. I couldn't believe my ears!  Reva's marriage to Billy was before they came to town. But yeah...
    • I just have this feeling Bill and Leslie about to be the next big thing. Not sure what that means for Hayley but if they want to be messy they could put her in Jacob's orbit. They had a bit of chemistry during their scene at Orphey Gene's a few months back.
    • You give her alot of credit. I really think she is in her feelings about what she feels Eva did to her. If this was just an act, there really wouldnt be a need to throw away her picture when she was alone. She's not feeling Eva right now and isnt thinking logically, which has been the case for her for much of this plan. I think she'll go back to Eva once she's calmed down but i dont think she's faking She's mad and in her feelings
    • Did anyone like Greg/Paige as a couple? There was an age gap (in 1988 William Devane was 49 and Nicollette Sheridan was 25) but the ick factor to me was Paige being the daughter of Greg's frenemy Mack and at one point it was thought Greg was Paige's father. Also I didn't feel that Greg/Paige were a genuine love, it seemed more like mid-life crisis/rebound. Of all of Greg's main pairings (Abby, Laura, Paige), to me the only genuine love was Laura.
    • I think it’s all an act. I think she’s cutting off Eva because she knows her daughter will run to Ted and counting on him on being a decent human being, he obviously will take in Eva. Once Eva and Ted have formed a bond Leslie will either use this to try and worm her way into Ted’s good graces and/or use Eva to destroy the Dupree/Richardson family form within. I don’t think Leslie is quite done with Eva just yet, she knows after all of this she still has a pull over that girl.
    • I like Haley, but she was being irritating today as Peg Bundy.

    •  Now she won’t get to experience Nicole’s kindness or the fresh scent of Fabreeze
    • I really don't understand Leslie.  Cutting off her daughter now leaves her with absolutely nothing and no bargaining chip...
    • And for all we know, there might be other siblings that Jacob has that haven't been mentioned yet.  It wouldn't be the first time a prodigal son and/or daughter is not mentioned by the family. A middle class family that's involved with the police force and police force adjacent would be a nice contrast with the more wealthy Duprees.  There is a lot of story material to mine from that dynamic.
